Joseph went to Jenton Girls’ School and called Natalie to come out. After showing her a picture of Marla, he finally got the confirmation he was looking for.

“Natalie, Marla works for the Lowell family. It can be said that she works for your mother. In that case, your mother is quite impressive,” stated Joseph.

“So, you’re saying that my mother knows who my biological father is. And she has known it all along,” said Natalie.

She paused before looking at him with sympathy and adding, “Joseph, you’re kind of pitiful. You’ve been deceived by my mother this whole time.”

The corner of Joseph’s mouth twitched as he felt complicated. He couldn’t even argue with Natalie. So, he had her repeat every detail of her conversation with Marla that day. After confirming there were no mistakes, he headed for Jenton Tourism immediately.

When Joseph arrived, he pushed the door open and walked in. Inside the spacious and luxurious office sat Marla. 

The moment she saw him, she was shocked. She was panicking on the inside because she had never expected him to find her. For a brief second, she blamed her secretary for letting him in, but at the same time, she knew that her secretary couldn’t stop him.

“Be honest with me. You went to Natalie’s school and said those things to her. What were you trying to accomplish?” Joseph questioned.

Joseph stared at Marla, and to his surprise, her confidence seemed weaker. Considering that he was still a part of the Lowell family, he saw no reason to be polite to one of the Lowell Group’s employees. So, his tone was aggressive from the very beginning.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about. I have work to do. Please leave!” Marla replied. The first thing that crossed her mind was that Natalie had betrayed her, and she cursed the latter in her mind.

Joseph knew that Marla was acting dumb, so he picked up the cup sitting on her desk and splashed its contents directly at her.

“Hey…” Marla was shocked. Her face and hair were drenched. She must look funny right now.

Fiona saw that Joseph was in a car accident and came over to check on him. Acting as if she had just happened to pass by, she asked, “Joseph, are you alright? Let me take you to the hospital for a checkup.”

“I’m fine! Your timing is perfect. You’re a lawyer, right? Stay here and handle this mess,” said Joseph, making Fiona stay behind. Meanwhile, he drove her car and continued to chase Marla.

Marla’s car was a red convertible sports car. Its performance was excellent, but her driving skills were average. Traffic was heavy, and she couldn’t drive fast.

When Marla realized that Joseph was still going after her, she panicked and ran a red light. It was only then that she created some distance between them.

Joseph followed closely. He hadn’t expected Marla to go to the harbor. When he arrived, the red sports car was still there, but she was gone. It was only after he asked the workers nearby that he learned she had already boarded a speedboat and left.

He scanned the docks, but there were no available boats nearby that could chase her. So, he decided to give up. Even chasing her by land wasn’t realistic. She had fled too quickly. It was obvious that she was hiding something.
