Jenton University Hospital served as a beacon and a foothold for the Croma faction to break into Jenton. It was an excellent strategy.

“But is that even necessary? Given how powerful the Croma faction is, they could easily take down the Ashmores and intimidate the Lowells and the Yorks. It’d be effortless for them to break into Jenton.”

Joseph reminded Marvin not to cave in to Yvette so soon. He wanted Marvin to drag things out through negotiations and stall for a while. He was already thinking about how to set a trap for her.

Of course, Joseph wasn’t particularly capable and lacked the necessary connections and resources. Outside of the hospital, he was just an ordinary nobody and could rely on others to get the job done.

After assigning tasks, Joseph left the hospital and headed to the sanatorium, where Grace was waiting for him.

“Joseph, there you are.” As soon as Grace saw Joseph, she became flustered, and a faint blush spread across her cheeks

“What’s your connection to Yvette?” Joseph asked as he sized her up. Grace was a real beauty, and he was no stranger to her charm. For a moment, he was reliving their past encounter, but he couldn’t let it happen again.

“What do you mean?”

“You’re both from Croma and are close friends as well as business partners. Perhaps I should make myself clearer. If I ask you to betray you, would you do it?”

“Yvette and I aren’t related, but she’s connected to my in-laws. She’s my mother-in-law’s relative. You want me to betray you? You need to give me a good reason and convince me.”

Grace stared at Joseph in surprise. She had thought he was just a naive doctor and didn’t expect him to have such a calculating side.

“I don’t agree with some of the things she does or how she does them. I understand what you’re trying to say.

“I won’t ask for much then. I just want you to give me her information. You don’t have to do anything else.”

“That wouldn’t be a problem.” Grace agreed without hesitation. She pulled out her tablet and opened some relevant files on Yvette before handing it to Joseph.

Joseph went through the details, memorizing the key details. Then he walked to the window and lit a cigarette.

“Besides, Yvette now calls the shots at the hospital. Wouldn’t it be awkward for Walt to stay there? I want you to have him discharged tomorrow.”

Joseph’s sharp eyes picked up on a subtle movement on Cora’s part. He also noticed that the call was still ongoing. He had an urge to walk over and see who she was talking to-perhaps her lover.

“You can talk about this with Walt tomorrow. He’ll do as you say.” She watched him nod and walk away, then quickly asked, “Is that all? Anything else?”

“No. You two carry on!” Joseph said coldly. He walked out of the room before slamming the door shut.

Joseph didn’t want to stay at home, so he reached for his briefcase and left. The more he thought about it, the more upset he was.

Cora was truly shameless. How dare she talk to her lover at home? And she even wanted him to beg her-in front of her lover too. Cora really had no shame at all.

Joseph could no longer stay in that house.
