Buying My Forever Wife novel Chapter 109

Ivy stared at his retreating back, completely bewildered.

Was he mad again?

And if she couldn't call him Mr. Foster, what was she supposed to call him?

Alaric? Darling? Daddy?

Ugh! There was no way those words were coming out of her mouth.

Ivy genuinely felt that this old man was utterly baffling sometimes.

She brushed it off, finished her breakfast, dropped Stella off at St. Jude’s Preschool, and headed straight to the hospital with Gemma's food.

Gemma stared at the insulated containers her sister had brought. They looked incredibly expensive and refined. She couldn't help but ask.

"Ivy, did you bring this from your house?"

Ivy didn't deny it.

Gemma pressed further. "What is your house like? Do you have a picture of your husband? I want to see him."

Her sister was drop-dead gorgeous.

It was bad enough that she had married an older divorced man with a kid, but if that old man was ugly too, Ivy's life would be pure torture.

Ivy hesitated for a moment, pulling out her phone.

She did have a picture of Alaric.

It was from that camping trip they took.

But Mr. Foster had explicitly warned her never to let anyone know they were married.

A man of Mr. Foster's status couldn't afford a scandal. If Gemma found out and accidentally posted something online, how would she ever explain it to him?

Ivy locked her phone and smoothly lied.

"I don't have any pictures of him. But he's actually really handsome. He doesn't look his age at all."

"Really? Well, does he treat you right? If you're raising his kid, does he at least give you money to spend?" Gemma demanded.

She was terrified that Ivy was trapped in a miserable situation.

Raising someone else's kid was one thing, but if the husband was a cheapskate making Ivy pay for everything out of pocket?

If that was her marriage, Ivy was living in hell.

Gemma cheered herself on silently. She had to finish writing her webnovel and get it published to build a nest egg and ease her sister's burden.

How did she suddenly end up married?

Was it some blind date flash-marriage?

Marrying someone so recklessly—wasn't she terrified of ending up with a monster?

Ethan simply couldn't understand why Ivy was in such a desperate rush to tie the knot.

"That's none of your business. Stop asking questions."

Ivy was afraid that if she entertained him, he'd never stop prying, and she might accidentally let the truth slip. She immediately shut him down with a frigid glare.

But Ethan refused to let it go. A sour jealousy tightened his chest as he stared at her.

"Who is your husband? Tell me."

He desperately wanted to know what kind of man could convince Ivy to marry him in the blink of an eye.

What was so great about this guy? What kind of gravitational pull did he have to make Ivy throw her youth away and marry him without a second thought?

"I said it's none of your business."

Ivy was genuinely losing her patience now.
