Buying My Forever Wife novel Chapter 111

Seeing the older man staring at her in silence, his expression darker than a thundercloud.

Ivy reached out, grabbed his hand, and twisted the knife a little deeper.

"Let's go, Old Man. Stella is waiting for us."

Ignoring his sour mood, Ivy dragged him toward Stella.

The moniker struck Alaric's pride, making his chest tighten.

Was he really that old?

A girl a decade his junior was actually calling him an old man?

That was somehow worse than calling him Mr. Foster.

Alaric was thoroughly displeased, but before he could argue, he realized the small hand wrapped around his was incredibly soft and warm.

He zoned out for a second, completely forgetting what he was going to say.

Reaching Stella, Ivy let go of Alaric's hand, crouched down, and offered him a small shovel.

"Come on, let's play with her."

Alaric felt like they were playing house.

He didn't have time for this nonsense.

He turned to leave.

But the little girl blocked his path. "Daddy, you're not behaving! You have to plant it with us. My teacher said a sapling will only grow tall if the whole family plants it together."

Left with no choice, Alaric took the shovel, crouched down next to Ivy, and half-heartedly scraped at the dirt.

Ivy watched his awkward movements and asked with a hint of disdain,

"Old Man, do you even know how to do this?"

Alaric glared at her. "Don't call me that."

"Then what should I call you?"

Ivy was getting annoyed too.

Beside them, Stella immediately chimed in.

"Mommy, aren't you supposed to call Daddy your husband? That's how they do it on TV."

"And Daddy needs to call Mommy his wife. That way, you'll stay in love forever and ever."

The little girl wore an expression of pure innocence.

Having delivered her speech, she obediently lowered her head and went back to packing dirt around the roots.

Besides, Alaric didn't want anyone to know about their marriage, so it wasn't like she could just casually drop the term 'husband' in public.

Ivy decided he was just completely unreasonable.

Not bothering to waste more energy on him, she went back to helping Stella with the plants.

By evening, Stella had become surprisingly cooperative, though she forcefully dragged Ivy toward the master bedroom.

Caught off guard, Ivy tried everything to coax the little girl out of it.

"Stella, I can't sleep unless I'm with you. Can't you just let me sleep in your room?"

"No way. You have to sleep with Daddy. You guys will only fall more in love if you sleep together, and then you can give me a baby sister."

The little girl babbled as she hauled Ivy into the master suite, noticing her father wasn't there yet.

She looked up at Ivy with big eyes and demanded softly,

"Mommy, you can't leave, got it? I let you off the hook for sneaking out last night, but from now on, you're sleeping with Daddy."

"You better go to bed now. I'm going back to my room, and I'll be really mad if you try to leave."

With that, Stella rushed out and shut the door behind her.

Leaving Ivy standing there, completely at a loss for words.
