Buying My Forever Wife novel Chapter 122

Elena realized that using Stella to drive Ivy away was going to be difficult.

She would have to find a way to make Ivy leave on her own accord.

Standing up, she offered Ivy a polite smile.

"I have some things to take care of, so I'll leave you two to it. Let's grab coffee sometime when you're free."

Ivy nodded politely. "Sounds good. Take care, Dr. Sinclair."

Once she was gone, Ivy adjusted her collar, ensuring it fully concealed the marks on her neck.

She then looked down at the child in her lap.

"Stella, stay here with Mrs. Gable for a little bit. I need to run a quick errand."

Mr. Foster hadn't used protection last night.

She needed to take emergency contraception within the twelve-hour window.

Getting pregnant would be an absolute disaster.

Stella clung to her, shaking her head.

"Can't you take me with you, Mommy?"

"Not this time, sweetie. I'll only be ten minutes. I'll be right back."

Ivy knew The Smart Kiosk within the estate sold emergency contraception. She planned to buy it, take it outside, and hurry back.

It was Sunday, and she was supposed to spend the entire day with Stella.

She definitely couldn't bring the child along for this specific purchase.

The little girl was five and shockingly perceptive.

If she slipped up and mentioned it in front of Mr. Foster, it would be catastrophic.

Reluctantly, Stella walked over to stand beside Mrs. Gable.

Ivy hurried out the door to buy her medication.

However, as she slipped out of the villa, a man standing by the upstairs study window caught sight of her.

Alaric wondered why Ivy was heading out alone.

She was clearly walking with a slight limp.

The realization hit him again—they really had slept together last night. He must have been incredibly rough to leave her in such a state.

If Ivy would just come forward and admit what happened...

Seeing her clutching nothing but that plastic bottle, a sudden suspicion crept over him.

Then, it hit him.

She hadn't just bought water. She had likely gone to buy emergency contraception.

She had only been gone for a few minutes. Unless she needed to take a pill immediately, why would she chug half a bottle on the short walk back?

So not only was she refusing to acknowledge what happened, but she was also dead set against having his child?

Alaric nearly laughed out loud at the sheer audacity of his wife.

She married him, refused to sleep with him, refused to bear his children, but had no problem taking his money.

There was no such thing as a free ride in this world.

As he watched her step back inside the house, he returned to his desk, completely unable to focus on his work.

Downstairs, Ivy rejoined Stella and settled in to help her draw.

Mrs. Gable walked over with a freshly brewed cup of coffee, offering it to Ivy.

"Mrs. Foster, Mr. Foster seems a bit off today, but he's insisting on working through it. Could you bring this up to him?"
