Buying My Forever Wife novel Chapter 134

Staring at the girl's face mere inches from his own.

Feeling the heavy weight of her leg draped intimately over his waist, his abs instantly tightened, a surge of raw heat practically setting his veins on fire.

The intoxicating, sweet scent radiating off her skin threw his mind into absolute chaos.

It left him completely rigid, entirely unsure of what to say or how to react.

They simply stared at each other. The fierce, undeniable sexual tension between two adults sparked fiercely in the tiny space, compelling their bodies to naturally release intoxicating pheromones.

The air grew impossibly thick as they both lost themselves in the haze, breathing in each other's scent as they instinctively drifted closer and closer.

Right up until their lips were barely a breath apart.

A sweet, childish voice suddenly echoed from the doorway.

"Daddy, Mommy, are you guys together?"

The second the sound hit her, Ivy violently snapped back to reality, scrambling away in absolute, terrified panic.

She desperately wanted to do something, anything, but she was completely paralyzed with embarrassment.

Alaric appeared entirely unfazed.

He sat up slowly, though having a girl use his arm as a pillow all night had left it completely numb and aching.

"Wow..."

Stella ran up to the side of the bed, her eyes practically sparkling with stars when she saw her parents together.

"Daddy and Mommy are sleeping in the same bed! Does that mean I'm going to get a little brother or sister really soon?"

Ivy's face was flushed a violent shade of crimson. Not daring to look back at the man on the bed for even a second, she grabbed Stella and practically bolted from the room.

After the two of them left, Alaric lifted a hand to press against his chest.

Strange.

His heart rate felt dangerously fast.

And his entire body was burning up.

Especially when his mind flashed back to Ivy leaning in, mere milliseconds away from kissing him. His Adam's apple bobbed heavily in his dry throat.

The agonizing, tight heat pooling low in his stomach only made his breathing heavier.

Alaric immediately headed straight into the bathroom for a cold shower.

Ivy took Stella back to her room to wash up.

The entire time, her mind was completely checked out.

She felt like she was completely doomed.

If she was just sleeping, why did she have to practically dive into Mr. Foster's arms?

And even if she had accidentally ended up there, how could she have almost kissed him when he woke up?

Wait, no!

Stella continued her innocent interrogation.

"Mommy, do you like Daddy?"

Ivy paused, then couldn't resist pinching the girl's cheek again. "Why are you always full of so many questions?"

"Just tell me! Do you like my daddy or not?"

Stella giggled, absolutely refusing to drop it.

Ivy felt a strange tug in her chest. Not wanting to completely crush the kid's spirits, she nodded and gave a soft reply.

"Yeah. I like him."

"Wow~~"

Stella stopped completely, turning around to face the man trailing behind them. "Daddy, did you hear that? Mommy really likes you!"

Ivy's heart stopped. She whipped around.

Seeing Alaric standing directly behind them, her legs gave out, and she nearly pitched forward onto the floor.

Even after she caught her balance, her vision literally went dark, and she genuinely wished she could just pass out and die.

Why.

Why on earth did this older man always have to hear everything.
