Buying My Forever Wife novel Chapter 165

Ivy stayed at The Starlight Estate the entire day, not setting foot outside.

By the afternoon, she noticed that every single news headline about her had vanished from the internet.

Any topic discussing her was actively blocked within minutes, disappearing without a trace.

Even the members in her alumni group chats had been entirely muted.

Ivy was astounded. Just what kind of power did her husband wield?

A scandal that had exploded so violently across the web was silenced completely, reduced to a mere ripple by his hand.

In less than half a day, it was as if the incident had never occurred. The internet was swept clean of any mention of her.

Ivy felt her admiration for her husband deepen even further.

Right then, Ethan Foster's call came through.

Ivy figured it was probably about the scandal.

Knowing he meant well, she accepted the call.

"Ivy, I already had Alaric suppress the news," Ethan said. "Don't be scared. As long as you stay inside for a bit, you should be fine."

When he first saw the news, he immediately knew it was fake.

There was no way Ivy would sneak off to get a room with a scumbag like Patrick.

He had called Alaric first thing in the morning. When that didn't go through, he called Leo Archer and told him to handle it.

He hadn't expected it to be scrubbed so cleanly in just half a day.

Ivy already knew Alaric was the one who smoothed things over, and her heart felt incredibly warm.

She asked Ethan, "You believe I'm innocent?"

Ethan answered without hesitation.

"Of course. You're way too smart to throw your life away for a guy like Patrick. He probably used some excuse to lure you there."

"Or Summer set up some elaborate trap and waited for you to take the bait."

Ethan considered himself far superior to Patrick.

If Ivy truly wanted to cheat, she'd choose him long before she ever settled for Patrick.

The only reason she dated Patrick in the first place was that they were high school classmates.
