Stella's heart dropped. "Mr. Stafford, what's wrong? What happened?"

Mr. Stafford was practically shouting over the line. A group of thugs had just barged into the factory, claiming The Quinn Group owed them money. Before anyone could stop them, they had taken sledgehammers to two of their main machines.

Those machines were the lifeblood of the factory. Over half of their current orders required them. If they couldn't be fixed in time, SD Apparel would breach multiple contracts, effectively bankrupting the business just as it was getting off the ground.

Stella forced herself to swallow her rising panic. "Are they still there? Have you called the police?"

"The police are already here taking photos for evidence. The thugs smashed the machines and ran," Mr. Stafford said, his voice trembling with stress. "The cops will definitely catch them, but that's just a fine and a few days in jail. Right now, I don't even know if these machines can be salvaged, and we are on a strict deadline!"

Stella's brow furrowed sharply. Her instincts screamed that this wasn't some random debt dispute. Someone had orchestrated this hit.

She told Mr. Stafford to stay calm and call an emergency technician while she rushed over.

Any thought of chatting with Summer vanished. Stella leaned forward, urging her driver to step on the gas.

By the time she arrived at SD Apparel, the factory floor was an absolute disaster zone. Mr. Stafford had just finished giving his statement to the officers, who were currently reviewing the security footage.

Spotting Stella, Mr. Stafford hurried over, wiping sweat from his forehead. He had already called their main technician, but the prognosis sounded grim. They wouldn't know the full extent of the damage until the inspection.

Despite the knot of anxiety in her chest, Stella projected absolute calm, steadying the panicked workers. She pulled Mr. Stafford aside. "Did they target anything else?"

"No," he said, shaking his head. "They just stormed in yelling about debts, made a beeline straight for the machines, smashed them to hell, and ran. It was highly coordinated."

Their target was incredibly specific. The whole "unpaid debt" excuse was a flimsy smokescreen. They came directly for her.

But who would do this?

Stella mentally ran through her list of enemies.

Suddenly, her eyes narrowed into a lethal glare.

She pulled out her phone and dialed George Quinn.

He answered after a few rings, sounding thoroughly pleased with himself. "Stella, have you finally thought it over and made the right decision—"
