"Get dressed here." Yorath Fordham sat on the bed, watching Ottilie Sewell with complete composure.
Ottilie turned a deaf ear and walked straight toward the bathroom.
After two steps, she remembered she had just offered to sleep with him.
Now she was avoiding him just to change clothes.
He would definitely get suspicious.
Ottilie turned back. "Then I'll change here."
She reached out and took off her clothes, letting him look openly.
Her beauty was natural—a flawless, unadorned radiance from head to toe.
If there had been even the slightest imperfection, he wouldn't have kept sleeping with her for so many years without getting bored.
Just as she finished undressing and was about to put on her fresh clothes, he spoke. "Have you been with anyone else all these years?"
She didn't answer.
Yorath didn't seem to need an answer. He stood up and helped her button the top two buttons of her collar.
Yet, his gaze was a relentless interrogation.
"You were the one who sent me to St. Dymphna's Psychiatric Facility," Ottilie said.
"I regretted it," he replied softly.
"No, you didn't. Ms. Tarrant is lovely. Even as a woman, I like her. It's perfectly normal that you do too."
She waited for him to finish buttoning her shirt, then turned and walked to the bathroom mirror.
Yorath followed, standing at the door and watching her.
"I don't like her."
Ottilie didn't respond. She just looked in the mirror, smoothing out nonexistent wrinkles on her shirt.
Walking back over, she hooked her arm through his. "Let's go, Yorath."
Yvonne Quinn drove the car.
When they arrived at the Fordham estate, the place was completely deserted.
Arm in arm with Yorath, Ottilie stood in the empty living room, not the least bit surprised.
He led her upstairs. Just as they were about to enter the study, Tobin blocked their path.
"Mr. Yorath, the master ordered that you may enter, but no outsiders are allowed."
Yorath didn't even spare the butler a glance as he reached out to push the door open.
Tobin spoke again. "Sir, you can walk through this door, but just like Mr. Lyle did back then, you'll have to survive the Fordham Rite first."
