Seraphina completely panicked. "No, no... Dr. Zimmerman, that's not what I meant. I..."
She stammered incoherently, beads of cold sweat breaking out on her forehead.
"Either apologize, or prepare for a lawsuit."
Bonnie coldly cut off her excuses. "I have a bad temper and very limited patience. You have three seconds to decide."
Seraphina looked around at the judging stares of her colleagues, then back at Dr. Zimmerman's furious expression.
She knew Bonnie had the recording. If they actually went to court, her reputation would be ruined, and she would definitely lose her job.
More importantly, if these filthy words reached Parrish's ears, the gentle, kind persona she had painstakingly built would be completely shattered.
"I'm sorry..."
Seraphina gritted her teeth, her voice as quiet as a mosquito.
"Sorry for what?" Bonnie cupped her ear, pressing her coldly. "You think three words will make me drop a lawsuit? Keep dreaming. Speak up and publicly clarify every single lie you spread."
Seraphina glared fixedly at Bonnie, wishing she could slice her into a thousand pieces with her eyes.
But trapped in this situation, she had no choice but to forcefully swallow her humiliation.
"I am sorry!"
Seraphina squeezed her eyes shut and shouted. "I was talking nonsense! Bonnie didn't ruin my relationship, and she didn't seduce the director! I made up those lies, and I shouldn't have misled everyone!"
The lobby fell into a dead silence.
The doctors and nurses who had been mocking Bonnie moments ago now kept their heads down, not even daring to breathe loudly.
Only then did Bonnie put her phone away. She turned to Dr. Zimmerman, the tension finally leaving her face as a bright smile broke through.
"Dr. Zimmerman, I didn't need a week. I sorted it out."
Dr. Zimmerman looked at Bonnie, the admiration in his eyes growing even deeper.
This girl knew when to lay low and when to strike hard, and her mind worked faster than anyone else's.
This was exactly the kind of strong-willed, resourceful person the clinic needed.
Dr. Zimmerman darkened his expression and turned to face the crowd.
"The clinic is a sacred place for healing. We will absolutely not tolerate anyone spreading rumors, causing trouble, or destroying our internal unity."
His voice wasn't loud, but it carried an undeniable authority.
"Those two nurses gossiping in the restroom do not need to come to work tomorrow. Go to HR and pick up your final paycheck."
