My CEO HUSBAND sign the divorce novel Chapter 276

Chapter 276: Let us complete the divorce.

After gathering my thoughts, I finally broke the silence.

"Alexander..."

"Do you remember what you told me when the scandal about lilian’s makeup first broke out?"

He frowned slightly,as if trying to recall.

"When the scandal with it first happened..."

"You said I could ask you for anything."

His expression gradually stiffened.

"You had even asked me several times back then "

I finally turned to face him.

"Back then I told you I didn’t need anything."

His breathing became noticeably slower.

I could see realization beginning to dawn on him.

"I remember."

His voice was barely above a whisper.

I nodded.

"I want something now."

His brows knitted together.

"What...?"

I took a slow breath, forcing myself to remain calm despite the storm inside my chest.

"This is what I want from you."

I looked straight into his eyes.

There was no anger.

No hatred.

Only quiet determination.

"Alexander..."

"Can you please let us complete the divorce?"

For a moment...

Time itself seemed to stop.

The color slowly drained from his face.

His eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at me, probably trying to process what he had just heard.

The sounds of children laughing around us suddenly felt distant.

As though the entire world had faded away.

All that remained..

Was the crushing silence between us.

Alexander’s POV

"Alicia...?"

It was the only word I managed to force past my lips.

She met my gaze calmly.

"The agreement has already been signed."

"You can return to Velaridge City."

"I’ll have a lawyer prepare the divorce papers."

"We can sign them from our respective cities."

For a long moment...

I couldn’t say a single word.

"Are you serious?"

My voice came out hoarse.

She didn’t answer immediately.

She simply looked at me with an expression so calm that it made my chest tighten.

"As I said..."

"This won’t stop you from seeing Aimy."

"She’ll always be your daughter."

I stared at her, unable to respond.

After everything...

After searching for two years...

After finally finding her again...

She was still asking for a divorce.

No...

She wasn’t asking.

She had already made up her mind.

A bitter ache spread through my chest.

Had she been planning this all along?

Or...

Had she truly reached the point where she no longer wanted me in her life?

My thoughts became a blur.

I suddenly remembered something.

The wooden box hidden in her wardrobe.

The report card.

The paper bag.

Uncle Steve’s words.

Aiden’s warning.

Every memory I had tried to suppress came flooding back all at once.

I felt like asking her.

I wanted to know if she really did have feelings for me.

But how could I even do that at in such a situation.

By the time I looked up again...

Alicia had already turned away.

She walked deeper into the park without looking back.

I remained standing where I was.

It felt as though someone had poured a bucket of ice-cold water over me.

I had finally gathered the courage to face her.

To tell her everything I’d failed to say two years ago.

Yet before I could even begin...

She had already decided how our story would end.

Somehow, my legs carried me to a nearby bench.

I sat down heavily and buried my face in my hands.

I didn’t know what to do.

I wasn’t sure how much time had passed before I felt a tiny hand tug at my sleeve.

I slowly lifted my head.

"I see."

Before either of them could say anything else, the little girl in my arms spoke up.

"Uncle!"

Evan’s attention immediately shifted to Aimy.

His expression softened almost instantly.

"Hello, Aimy."

"Here for your favorite pasta again?"

She nodded enthusiastically.

"Yes!"

Then her eyes brightened even more.

"Will you eat with us, Uncle?"

Evan chuckled softly before glancing at Alicia.

"Would that be alright?"

Alicia nodded.

"Of course."

"Please join us."

Only then did Evan look at me.

"And Chairman Blackwood?"

"I hope you don’t mind."

To be honest I didn’t like the intrusion.

This was supposed to be my chance...

My chance to spend time with Alicia and Aimy.

But the hopeful look on Aimy’s face made the words die in my throat.

A faint smile appeared on my lips.

"Why would I?"

"Please join us."

"Thank you."

Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed Alicia glance toward Anna.

The two exchanged a brief look.

I couldn’t tell what it meant.

Before I could think further, Alicia spoke.

"Let’s head inside."

Together, the five of us walked through the restaurant’s glass doors.

A waiter quickly led us to a table by the window.

It was just large enough for all five of us.

Aimy happily climbed onto her chair with Anna’s help.

Evan took the seat beside her.

Alicia sat on her other side.

Leaving me directly across from them.

As the menus were handed out, no one spoke for a moment.

The atmosphere around the table was polite.

Peaceful.

Yet beneath that calm...

The tension was impossible to ignore.
