My CEO HUSBAND sign the divorce novel Chapter 320

Chapter 320: Irreplaceable

Two days after Alicia moved back into the master bedroom, I returned from the company and immediately noticed a familiar car parked beside the villa.

Since no stranger could enter the estate without permission, I assumed Alicia had a guest and didn’t bother asking the security guards before walking inside.

The moment I stepped into the villa, quiet voices drifted from the living room.

As I walked farther in, I found Uncle Steve seated on one of the sofas, with Aunt Angela sitting quietly beside him.

Almost as if sensing my presence, they both turned.

The moment my eyes met Aunt Angela’s, my expression hardened instinctively.

She quickly lowered her gaze and slowly stood up, unable to meet my eyes.

Before anyone could speak—

"Uncle Alexander!"

A familiar little voice rang through the room.

Bella came running toward me with tiny footsteps before wrapping her arms around my leg.

A smile found its way onto my face as I bent down and carried her into my arms.

"Look at how tall you’ve grown."

She smiled shyly.

"Uncle, I asked Grandma to bring me so I could see you and Aunt Alicia."

"Really?"

I chuckled.

"Then I’m glad you came."

"Alexander."

Uncle Steve called from the sofa.

Only then did I turn toward him.

"Why are you standing over there?" he asked with a smile.

"Come and sit."

I walked over and sat beside him, keeping Bella comfortably on my lap.

"Uncle, when did you arrive?"

"And why are you sitting here alone?"

"We only arrived a little while ago," he replied.

"Maria went upstairs to get Alicia."

His expression softened.

"Why didn’t you tell me you’d found her?"

"Or that she’d come back?"

I lowered my eyes briefly.

"I’m sorry."

"I just wanted to give her some time to adjust first."

He nodded slowly, seemingly understanding.

"Alexander..."

Aunt Angela called quietly.

I looked toward her.

Only then did I truly notice how different she looked.

The arrogance and pride she had always carried were nowhere to be seen.

She looked exhausted.

Almost... defeated.

She opened her mouth as though wanting to say something.

Before she could.....

Footsteps echoed from the staircase.

I looked up.

Alicia was walking downstairs with Aimy beside her.

The moment her eyes landed on me, her brows furrowed slightly.

Then she noticed Aunt Angela.

Immediately, her entire expression changed.

Without hesitation, she bent down and lifted Aimy into her arms.

At the same time, Uncle Steve stood up.

"Alicia."

His voice was gentle.

Only then did Alicia seem to realize he was there.

Her eyes widened.

"Uncle..."

Almost instantly, she forgot about everyone else and hurried over to him, still carrying Aimy.

Uncle Steve wrapped one arm around her in a gentle hug.

"I’m glad you’re alright," he said quietly.

She rested her head briefly against his shoulder before slowly pulling away.

His gaze softened as it fell on Aimy.

"Say hello to Grandpa."

Aimy blinked in confusion before looking at Alicia.

Receiving an encouraging nod, she looked back at him.

"Hi."

Uncle Steve smiled warmly.

"Hello there."

"What’s your name?"

"Aimy."

Before he could say another word, Aunt Angela suddenly spoke.

"May..."

Her voice trembled.

"May I hold her?"

The room fell silent.

Everyone turned toward her.

Her eyes were already brimming with tears.

Almost instinctively, Alicia took a small step backward.

Aunt Angela noticed immediately.

She lowered her eyes before speaking again.

"Please..."

"I would never hurt her."

Alicia remained silent, her hold around Aimy tightening ever so slightly.

"Aunty..."

Bella suddenly called softly.

Alicia turned toward her.

A smile slowly spread across her face.

"Bella."

"You’ve grown so much."

Bella simply nodded.

Alicia laughed softly.

"You came to see me?"

Another small nod.

Alicia’s smile grew warmer.

Then she looked at Aimy.

"Aimy."

"This is your cousin Bella."

She crouched until she was at their eye level.

"And Bella..."

"This is my daughter, Aimy."

The two little girls stared at each other shyly without saying a word.

Seeing their hesitation, Alicia smiled before calling one of the nearby staff.

"Could you take them upstairs to Aimy’s room?"

Then she looked back at Bella.

"You’d like to play with your little cousin, wouldn’t you?"

Bella nodded.

I gently set her back on the floor.

One afternoon, I overheard a few of the older staff talking about something that had happened the last time Alicia and I visited together.

When I questioned them, they hesitated at first.

Eventually...

They told me everything.

How Aunt Angela cornered Alicia.

How she insulted her.

How she spoke about my unborn child.

I had been furious.

But I never confronted her.

Because at the time...

I blamed myself.

If I had protected Alicia sooner...

None of it would have happened.

But now...

She had crossed every boundary.

"Alexander..."

Tears rolled freely down Aunt Angela’s face.

"I regretted everything I said."

"But Karen..."

"I met her after Alicia left."

"You were completely broken."

"I felt so guilty watching you."

"Karen seemed kind..."

"Sweet..."

"I honestly thought..."

"Maybe she could help you move on."

I stared at her without a trace of emotion.

"Kind?"

I repeated quietly.

"The kind woman who poisoned a two-year-old child?"

She immediately shook her head.

"I didn’t know."

"I swear I didn’t know she was capable of something like that."

"I only wanted what was best for you."

I slowly stood up.

"Did I ever ask you to decide what was best for me?"

She looked at me helplessly.

"Alexander..."

"You know I’d never intentionally hurt you."

I looked at her for a long moment before answering.

"We’re done discussing this."

"The police will complete their investigation."

"And whatever conclusion they reach..."

"We’ll accept it."

She stared at me in disbelief.

Perhaps she never imagined I would choose my wife over her.

But this wasn’t simply about choosing sides anymore.

She was my aunt.

But Alicia was my wife.

Aimy was my daughter.

And anyone who threatened my family...

No matter who they were...

Would never have my protection again.
