"Obviously!" Tiffany flipped her hair smugly before lowering her voice to a conspiratorial whisper. "Let me tell you, I just saw Melody Monroe."
Tiffany ran in the same elite circles, so she was fully caught up on the latest high-society gossip.
She wasn't worried about Seraphina's marriage. If Lucian had actually wanted Melody, he would have married her years ago.
Melody wouldn't have fled the country if he cared.
Her coming back now was just a desperate attempt to stay relevant.
Seraphina's expression didn't change. "Oh?"
"She's sitting right over there, holding court with a bunch of trust-fund girls," Tiffany sneered, jutting her chin in a specific direction.
"Dressed like a peacock strutting around, terrified someone might forget she just flew back from France."
Seraphina followed Tiffany's gaze.
Sure enough, Melody was seated near the stage, surrounded by a gaggle of socialites.
She was wearing a striking sapphire blue gown that clung tightly to her stunning curves. A massive diamond necklace rested against her collarbone, catching the light perfectly.
She certainly looked the part of a leading lady.
Tiffany muttered under her breath, "See? She's the center of attention. Everyone's kissing up to her. Pathetic."
Seraphina smiled faintly. "She's a Monroe. She's a true socialite, so of course she's the center of attention."
At that moment, Melody glanced up, caught sight of them, and immediately strutted over with her entourage in tow.
One of them was Melody's close friend, Harmony Banks. Harmony dragged a disdainful gaze over Seraphina and Tiffany before scoffing.
"God, the standards for these charity galas are dropping by the minute. They're letting in absolute riffraff now."
Because Seraphina rarely attended these elite functions—Sienna usually represented the Simmons family—she was a completely unknown face to this specific circle.
The same went for Tiffany.
So, the socialites naturally assumed the two of them had sneaked in.
She strutted forward, wearing a cloying smile. "Ladies, this is my sister, Seraphina. She rarely attends high-profile events like this, so please forgive her lack of etiquette."
She turned to Seraphina, dripping with fake sympathy. "Seraphina, it's okay. If you don't understand the auctions today, just listen quietly. Don't say anything embarrassing."
"Exactly," Harmony sneered. "And don't take any sneaky photos for your little social media pages. If I find out you posted a picture of us, I'll have my lawyers bury you in lawsuits. Learn your place."
The corners of Melody's lips curled up in a victorious, mocking smirk as she watched Seraphina get humiliated.
Her eyes practically screamed: *If you don't belong in this world, stop trying to force your way in.*
Hearing all this, Little Bean was absolutely furious. "Mommy, destroy them! They're the ones who don't belong! Their jewelry is completely fake!"
The socialites stared at Seraphina with condescending amusement, waiting for her to crumble.
Seraphina stood in silence for a few seconds. Then, she met their gaze and spoke, her voice deadly calm.
"Is your standard of high-class wearing fake jewelry?"
