My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 315

Landon was just about to stand up when his ringtone shattered the silence.

He glanced at the screen. It was his mother, Charlene Langford.

Landon answered, and before he could even get a word out, Charlene's frantic voice rushed through the speaker.

"Landon, what exactly is going on between you and the Monroe girl?"

When she first heard the gossip from Priscilla, she had only half-believed it.

After all, Landon had just returned to the country without making any waves. How on earth was he suddenly tangled up with the Monroe heiress?

It was entirely unexpected.

But the moment she opened her newsfeed and saw the photos of them looking so cozy together, she was absolutely floored.

She had rushed to call him for confirmation.

Landon leaned back against the sofa, his tone impossibly casual. "Mom, haven't you always been nagging me to settle down? Now that I've found someone, isn't this exactly what you wanted?"

Charlene paused. "I just... I saw the news, and I wanted to know if you were actually serious about this."

If he was serious, this was obviously a massive win.

Landon took another sip of his coffee. "Melody Monroe is the sole heir to the Monroe family. Her background, her looks, her education—none of it is lacking. She's more than a perfect match for your son."

A long silence stretched over the line.

She obviously knew that Melody was a top-tier choice, but...

"Wasn't she in love with Lucian?" Charlene asked, her voice laced with confusion.

Melody and Lucian had grown up together, and her lingering feelings were practically an open secret in their circles.

"Mom, Lucian is married now. Melody obviously has to move on with her life! Is she supposed to stay single forever? Melody and I get along great. We're currently seeing where things go, and we'll just let nature take its course."

Landon's reasoning was perfectly sound, and Charlene found herself nodding along.

However, there was still a trace of suspicion in her tone. "Landon, tell me the truth. Are you actually falling for this girl, or do you have an ulterior motive?"

Landon didn't answer right away.

He stood up, his expression turning ice-cold. "What do you think, Mom?"

He had basically been working from home this entire time.

Right before he left, he stood by the door to the nursery for a moment, watching Seraphina slowly pace the room with Hudson in her arms.

"I'm heading out."

"Okay," Seraphina looked up and met his gaze. "Drive safe."

Lucian nodded and turned to head downstairs.

Suddenly, Little Bean's voice echoed in her mind. "Mommy, hurry up and ask Daddy if he's acquired Paradox Logic yet! The window of opportunity is closing fast."

Seraphina hadn't expected the baby to still remember that. She quickly called out to stop him. "Lucian, what happened with that company I mentioned last time? Paradox Logic?"

Lucian was completely caught off guard by her persistence. She had literally just given birth, and she was still thinking about it?

"I've already had my people reach out," he explained. "We're going to evaluate its market value soon."

If the company actually had potential, Lucian wasn't opposed to making an investment.
