Alistair was completely speechless.
Every single word Lucian spoke had struck his vulnerabilities with lethal precision.
He didn't need the flashiest number; he needed the most ironclad buyer.
A suffocating silence dominated the conference room for two full minutes.
Finally, Alistair lifted his head and met Lucian's intense gaze.
"Mr. Langford, give me two days."
"Done." Lucian stood up and extended his hand. "I'll expect your call."
They shook hands firmly.
Looking at the formidable man standing before him, Alistair already knew exactly what his choice would be.
But there was one last thing he needed to know.
"Mr. Langford, if I may ask a personal question."
"Go ahead."
"Why are you betting so heavily on Paradox?"
Lucian paused. Seraphina's voice echoed in his mind: 'You promised me you'd trust my instincts.'
A subtle, genuine smile curved his lips.
"Because my wife has incredible intuition."
Alistair was utterly floored.
He had been bracing himself for an aggressive market analysis or a genius economic forecast. He never expected an answer so... deeply intimate.
He was making a multi-million dollar acquisition based purely on his wife's gut feeling?
Wasn't that... absurdly reckless?
He had heard whispers about how fiercely devoted Lucian was to his new bride, but witnessing it firsthand was something else entirely.
The rumors clearly hadn't done the man justice!
Lucian offered no further explanation. He simply turned and strode out of the conference room.
Alistair stood rooted to the spot, watching the titan walk away, suddenly realizing just how fascinating this entire power struggle had become.
A man who based critical corporate maneuvers on his wife's intuition was either hopelessly sentimental or terrifyingly confident.
And Lucian Langford was absolutely not a sentimental fool.
The answer was obvious—he possessed such absolute power and conviction that he didn't need to justify his actions to anyone.
......
"Keep digging. I want to know exactly where he's planning to pull this phantom capital from," Lucian commanded icily.
"Understood."
Ending the call, Lucian tapped the divider, and the car merged smoothly out of the Innovation District.
His instincts were screaming at him—Landon's sudden burst of arrogance wasn't fueled by his own money.
......
Lyra Bay.
Receiving Lucian's reassurance, Seraphina finally let out a massive sigh of relief.
She tossed her phone onto the plush sofa and gazed down at Little Bean resting in her arms.
"Your dad says we have this in the bag," she whispered excitedly. "You think so too, don't you?"
Little Bean pumped his tiny fists into the air and let out an adorable, enthusiastic gurgle.
Seraphina happily translated that response as an absolute 'Yes, we do!'
A radiant smile broke across her face, and she pressed her cheek against her son's impossibly soft skin.
"You two are the perfect team. Your dad handles the empire, you handle the cuteness, and I get to just sit back and look gorgeous."
