My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 33

Hanging up the phone, Samuel's expression was grim.

That ungrateful daughter of his. Asking her to come home felt like he had to beg.

It was absolutely outrageous.

She really thought that just because she had latched onto Lucian Langford, she was invincible.

Sienna stepped up beside him, acting soothing. "Dad, are you okay? What did she say?"

"Hmph. That ungrateful brat. How did I end up raising such a heartless wretch?" Samuel cursed out loud.

A flash of triumph crossed Sienna's eyes, though she feigned distress. "Is she refusing to come back?"

"She wouldn't dare."

"That's a relief. When she gets here, we can just talk to her nicely and clear up this whole misunderstanding," Sienna murmured softly.

"You're the only one who truly understands," Samuel said, patting her hand. "If only your sister had half your sense."

"Don't worry, Dad. She'll realize you're just looking out for her."

After leaving the room, Sienna retreated to her own bedroom and immediately dialed Sebastian Sullivan. She kept her tone casual. "Sebastian, are you free? Do you want to come over for lunch today? Seraphina is stopping by."

Sebastian had been agonizing over how to get in touch with Seraphina. At the news, he jumped at the chance. "I'm free. It's been a while since I visited your parents, anyway."

"Great! I'll have the chef whip up a few of your favorites," Sienna said sweetly.

She ended the call, a dark, calculating look settling over her features.

She had invited Sebastian to test the waters. She needed to know if he had truly let that bitch Seraphina go.

She also wanted to give Sebastian a harsh wake-up call so he would face reality. Seraphina was now Lucian's wife.

She was no longer someone he could claim.

Ever since Seraphina called off the wedding, the Sullivan family had remained dead silent about their future, and it was making Sienna frantic.

With her baby bump growing more visible by the day, she had to fan the flames and force their hand.

And, of course, she and her mother had prepared a little 'surprise' for Seraphina, too.

...

Beside him sat Zelda, holding a teacup. She didn't even bother to glance up when Seraphina walked in.

Sienna, on the other hand, immediately stood up, plastering on an enthusiastic smile. "Sera, you're back! Have a seat. I'll get the maid to pour you some water."

Seraphina shot her a look, refusing to reply.

Sienna's smile faltered for a second, but she quickly recovered her sweet facade.

"Where are my things?" Seraphina demanded, skipping the pleasantries entirely.

Samuel's face darkened further. "What kind of attitude is that? You come back to your own home and don't even say hello?"

"Hello?" Seraphina's lips curled into a smirk, though the smile didn't reach her eyes. "Since when have you ever cared about that?"

"You..."

"Alright, alright," Zelda finally set down her teacup, pretending to play the mediator. "It's rare for Sera to visit. Let's not fight the moment she walks through the door. Your things are in the attic. I had someone pack them up. Everything is there."

She spoke with such exaggerated grace, acting as if she had been benevolently safeguarding the items all this time.

Seraphina couldn't even be bothered to call out her hypocrisy. She simply turned on her heel and headed upstairs.
