Outcast Queen: Her Return from Hell novel Chapter 117

"The Miller family?" Pierce was somewhat surprised. "How did she get tangled up with them?"

"Word is she did it for Meredith Miller," Yancy replied, handing over a file.

Pierce scanned it quickly, piecing together the cause and effect, and a dangerous smirk played on his lips. "Marcus Miller really is useless. Resorting to such dirty tricks just to secure his position as the heir."

To an outsider, it might have looked like Marcus was simply bullying his sister. But to Pierce, it was glaringly obvious that Marcus was laying a trap for Meredith and Old Mr. Miller.

"Have someone keep an eye on this," Pierce said casually. "Even though it has nothing to do with me, publicly, Phoenix is my wife. It's best if we handle the fallout."

Yancy muttered to himself: *Boss, you're clearly just protecting her.* He spoke as if it were a matter of protocol, but the reality was that once the Millers knew Phoenix had Pierce backing her, they would have to weigh the consequences. They definitely wouldn't dare try anything.

"Also, the Madam visited the Lamborghini dealership in the south district and bought a Veneno."

"She actually likes that style of car?" Pierce was a bit surprised, but considering Phoenix's wild and arrogant personality, it made perfect sense.

"Finally, the Madam got into a conflict with Penelope Sterling."

At the mention of that name, Pierce's gaze instantly darkened. "That father-daughter duo really knows how to cause trouble for me."

He had rushed off earlier today entirely to clean up Silas Sterling's mess. That old fool had ruined one of the Sterling Group's projects, causing a billion-dollar loss. It was an obvious ploy to distract Pierce so he wouldn't have time to look into Sully Yates.

"Tell Quentin to keep an eye on Penelope. That stupid woman has no brains, and I won't have her doing anything that damages the Sterling family's reputation."

"Understood."

Just then, another message from Phoenix popped up on his phone.

[Check Penelope Sterling's bank statements.]

Pierce raised an eyebrow, a slight smile forming on his lips, and immediately ordered Yancy to get it done.

At the Prescott Estate.

Ian should have returned to the set to catch up on filming, but after what happened, he was in no mood to act. He drove straight home to ask his parents what exactly was going on with Phoenix.

"Ian, why are you back?" Vanessa looked at her furious son in surprise.

"Mom, what the hell is up with Phoenix?" Ian cut straight to the point, gritting his teeth. "That bitch not only spent millions buying a hypercar today, but she also hit me! She even hit Penelope Sterling!"

"What?!" Vanessa's face went pale, a wave of panic washing over her. "That rebellious daughter is completely out of control!"

"Right, Dad, that card Phoenix used to pay today... why did it look exactly like yours..."

"It doesn't just look like it, it is mine!!"

Warren cut Ian off, his voice dripping with exhaustion and defeat. "She extorted millions of dollars from me."

The moment he received the deduction notification during his meeting today, he nearly had a heart attack.

Ian's expression shifted wildly. That was his dream car! He couldn't even bear to spend his own money on it, and Phoenix had used his father's money to buy it?

The frustration burned in his chest like wildfire, searing his organs until it physically hurt.

"Vroom—!!"

Just then, the deep, powerful roar of an engine approached, vibrating the windows.

Ian spaced out for a second. That familiar exhaust note, that beast-like roar... Wasn't that the Veneno he had been dreaming of?

Which meant, Phoenix was back.
