Outcast Queen: Her Return from Hell novel Chapter 159

Alistair's mind raced back to the incident in the tea room.

He had been absolutely certain that the Millers would never embrace an heir who had gone to prison for corporate espionage.

But hearing Phoenix speak so casually, it became blatantly clear that the Miller family's stance on Meredith wasn't nearly as hostile as he had assumed.

"It seems our ties to the Millers run deeper than I realized. We are absolutely locking down this partnership," Alistair said, the corners of his eyes crinkling with absolute certainty.

Sitting down the table, Phoebe's heart hammered against her ribs, a cold sweat breaking out over her palms. She was terrified Phoenix would throw caution to the wind and expose her lie, damning Alistair's reputation in the process.

Yet, Phoenix simply watched her with a mocking smirk, showing zero intent to blow the whistle. This unnatural silence made Phoebe even more paranoid—*what exactly was this bitch plotting?*

The meeting concluded shortly after Alistair issued his final directives.

Though the board was now painfully aware of Phoenix's ruthless capability, the spotlight ultimately remained on Phoebe.

Securing a partnership with MK Global was the Prescott Group's golden ticket into the jewelry industry, and bridging the gap with the notoriously closed-off Miller family made Phoebe a massive commercial asset.

...

"Dad, Julian, are you absolutely sure she won't go to Grandpa behind my back?"

In a private conference room, Phoebe paced nervously. "She held her tongue in the meeting to save Grandpa's reputation, but what if she tells him the truth privately?"

"Phoebe, you don't need to worry about that," Warren said calmly, his tone laced with cold corporate logic. "Whether she tells him or not changes nothing. Once Alistair made the announcement, the narrative was locked. He will never allow this to be dragged out into the light."

"As long as the truth stays buried, Phoenix has no choice but to swallow it."

Phoebe's eyes lit up. Hearing her father's breakdown finally allowed the knot in her stomach to unravel.

Meanwhile, in the Marketing Director's office.

Felix knocked and slipped in the second the coast was clear.

"Boss, I heard Phoebe scored a major deal with the Miller family?" he asked carefully, testing the waters.

Phoenix's lips curled into a cold sneer. "A thief taking things that don't belong to her. How fitting."

Felix frowned, a spark of realization hitting him. "Wait... are you saying she stole your credit?!"

Phoenix glanced up at him. The sleazy middle-aged manager was surprisingly sharp. "If those dinosaurs on the board had half your brain, Phoebe wouldn't be able to play them like fools."

Felix's face darkened with outrage. "Boss, why didn't you clear your name in the meeting?"

"There was no need." Phoenix picked up a fountain pen, twirling it gracefully between her fingers, though her demeanor was completely lethal. "Proving my innocence would have publicly humiliated Alistair. I might win the argument, but I'd permanently alienate the man holding the keys. It's bad business."

"Damn! That girl is repulsive!" Felix spat, his face twisting in disgust.

The realization hit Felix like a splash of cold water. He immediately straightened up. "You're completely right. I'll find you someone immediately. From now on... I'll operate in the shadows. I'll be your inside man."

Phoenix offered an approving smile. "Smart."

...

Cloudhaven General Hospital, VIP Ward.

Gideon Miller was in excellent spirits today. After drinking the specialized herbal remedy, the brain fog had significantly cleared.

Based on his recovery, he could be discharged at any time.

"Grandpa, let me massage your legs to help with the circulation." Milo sat by the bed, expertly working the muscles.

"Thank you, Milo. You've worked hard," Gideon said warmly, a deep sense of peace washing over him as he looked at his devoted grandson.

"Taking care of you is my job." Milo shook his head, keeping the pressure perfect, earning constant praise from the old man.

Just then, a soft knock echoed through the room.

"Come in," Gideon called out.

The door pushed open, and a figure stood in the doorway.
