The Godel Golf Club.
It was the largest and most luxurious private club in Cloudhaven.
Today, however, a single man had booked the entire venue.
That man was Pierce Sterling, the head of the Sterling family.
The Sterling family's influence in Cloudhaven was absolute, covering countless industries, and they had recently expanded into overseas markets. Their power was unmatched.
"Grandpa, drop the marriage talk. Push me again, and I'll bankrupt the Prescott family."
With that, Pierce hung up the phone and casually tossed it to his assistant standing nearby.
He picked up a golf club and walked toward the teeing ground.
A man was lying flat on the grass right where the ball was meant to be teed off.
The man had a golf tee clenched between his teeth, his eyes wide with sheer terror, his body trembling violently.
"Mr. Lucas, don't move," Pierce warned, swinging his club with a terrifyingly low voice. "If you make me miss my hole-in-one, you know the consequences."
Mr. Lucas's eyes darted frantically in fear. The club swinging back and forth in front of him felt like a pendulum counting down to his execution.
Swoosh.
Pierce swung hard.
The ball arched through the air in a perfect parabola before landing on the green and rolling straight toward the hole.
Moments later, the ball dropped into the cup.
Right on cue, Phoenix strolled onto the green and smiled. "Nice shot, Mr. Sterling."
Pierce's bodyguards immediately swarmed forward at the sight of the intruder.
One of the guards reached out to grab her, but Phoenix easily sidestepped him and delivered a swift kick that sent the man flying.
She smirked. "Mr. Sterling, is this how you welcome your fiancée?"
Fiancée?!
"Get out!!"
The bodyguards froze in fear and scrambled away.
"Useless trash."
Pierce turned back to face Phoenix. "You have one minute."
"I'm Phoenix Prescott, the daughter of the Prescott family."
"Isn't the Prescott daughter named Phoebe?" Pierce narrowed his eyes and gave a subtle hand signal.
His personal assistant, Yancy, immediately stepped forward and whispered, "Mr. Sterling, I just looked into it. She is indeed the biological Prescott daughter. However, her identity was never made public, and four years ago, she was sent to prison. She was just released today."
A cryptic smile formed on Pierce's lips. "An ex-con heiress tracks me down on her first day out of prison and claims to be my fiancée. How fascinating."
"Tell me what you really want."
"I want to marry you."
