Outcast Queen: Her Return from Hell novel Chapter 27

Caspian Thorne was completely dumbfounded.

He knew Pierce's temperament better than anyone—just as Phoenix said, the man despised the scheming women who desperately threw themselves at him.

Over the years, there had been so many of them that Pierce had concluded all women were cut from the same cloth.

But Phoenix's appearance was like a bomb, blowing his preconceived notions to pieces.

She was relaxed, her aura dominating the room. Standing before Pierce, she showed no fear; instead, she radiated a condescending calmness.

"To go head-to-head with Pierce and walk away unscathed..." Caspian rubbed his chin, muttering to himself, "This fiancée... she's hardcore!"

The lingering warmth on his lips felt like a permanent brand.

The air pressure around Pierce dropped to a terrifying low.

He suddenly clamped his hand around Phoenix's wrist with astonishing force. His deep voice, laced with ice, exploded in her ear. "Phoenix Prescott, do you have a death wish?"

Phoenix raised an eyebrow, letting him grip her wrist. A nonchalant smile curled on her lips. "It's a partnership, Mr. Sterling. If we're going to act, we better make it convincing. Shouldn't a fiancé protect his fiancée in public?"

The candidness and mischief in her eyes pierced through the thick fog like a sharp arrow, striking the most barren corner of Pierce's heart and stirring ripples he hadn't even noticed.

His eyes darkened instantly, danger threatening to overflow.

"Mmm? Phoenix... is this... the male dancer you ordered?" Macy mumbled dazedly, struggling to stand straight.

Her vision was blurry. She actually mistook the terrifyingly intimidating Pierce for a club escort, her wandering little hand drunkenly reaching for his toned forearm.

"..." As if touching something unimaginably filthy, Pierce violently flung Phoenix's hand away and took a massive step back, moving so fast he was practically a blur.

"Ah!" Losing her support, Macy cried out and slumped forward.

Phoenix moved even faster. She reached out like lightning, scooping Macy securely back into her arms in one smooth, effortless motion.

"Mr. Sterling, it seems my friend is blackout drunk. I'll take her home first." Her gaze swept over the dead silent, terrified crowd, and she tilted her chin toward Pierce. "I'll leave the cleanup... to my fiancé."

Without dragging things out, she half-carried, half-supported the groaning Macy, walking brazenly toward Leo, who was frozen at the door, too terrified to speak.

Leo was rooted to the spot, his body completely stiff. He stared dead at the tips of his own shoes, not daring to breathe.

Ninth's woman!

Even if he had a hundred times the courage, he wouldn't dare take a second look!

Remembering his arrogant threats from just moments ago, cold sweat instantly soaked his shirt. A massive wave of terror poured over him like freezing water—he was finished!

Julian watched with bloodshot eyes as Phoenix casually walked away with Macy, the very target he had come for.

Everything he had carefully planned was torn to shreds by this damn sister of his!

Bang! The steel-toed strike, carrying bone-crushing force, slammed squarely into Vinnie's chest!

"Urgh!" Vinnie was kicked flying like a broken ragdoll, soaring back several feet and crashing through a pile of tables and chairs. Blood sprayed from his mouth. He couldn't even manage a scream before slumping into a lifeless heap.

The entire room fell dead silent.

Even the air seemed to stop moving.

Pierce lazily flicked the ash from his cigarette, his freezing gaze landing on Leo, who was shaking like a leaf.

"Leo Vance." It was just his name, spoken flatly, but it carried a crushing pressure that made Leo dizzy.

Ever since Yara went in... for all these years, the only person capable of striking terror into his very soul was this man right in front of him.

"I... I understand!" Leo didn't dare hesitate for a second. He screamed at the top of his lungs, "Drag this blind piece of shit out of here! Break his hands!"

"Leo! Have mercy! Mr. Sterling!!!" Hearing his sentence, the barely conscious Vinnie let out a shrill, despairing wail.

But Leo ignored him completely. To appease Pierce's fury, Vinnie's life meant absolutely nothing.

"Drag him away! Now!" Several thugs lunged forward like wild dogs, dragging the screaming, struggling Vinnie toward the back room like a dead carcass.

Soon after, horrifying, blood-curdling screams of agony echoed intermittently through the club.
