Outcast Queen: Her Return from Hell novel Chapter 270

"Phoenix, if you need more staff, just transfer them from within the group," Alistair said with a strained smile, his tone probing. "I've given you special authority. Who would dare refuse you?"

Phoenix leaned back in her leather executive chair. She held her phone with one hand, while the fingertips of her other hand rhythmically tapped the armrest, a mocking smirk on her lips.

"Grandfather, the other departments are short on manpower too, and I don't want to cause trouble for them. But don't worry, the people I've found are very reliable." Phoenix paused, her tone meaningful. "It's Sloane and Yvette."

Alistair was slightly stunned. Those two names completely took him by surprise.

He had assumed Phoenix would recruit outsiders to groom as her loyalists, but he never expected her to choose family.

"Grandfather, both Sloane and Yvette recently graduated, so it's the perfect time to train them. I believe that with their abilities, and a little experience, they'll bring substantial profits to the group in the future."

Hearing Phoenix's "big picture" reasoning, the deep furrows in Alistair's brow slowly smoothed out.

It seemed he had overthought things.

This girl still had the Prescott family's interests at heart and didn't have intentions of usurping the throne just yet.

Otherwise, she would never have hired Yvette and Sloane.

Wesley was a lazy failure who only cared about enjoying himself.

Although his two daughters were inexperienced, as long as their surname was Prescott, they were part of the family pot. There was no way Phoenix could recruit them to betray the family.

"Alright! Phoenix, just go ahead and do what you need to do. I am your strongest supporter."

To Phoenix, that statement was pure irony. Just moments ago, he was completely on guard. Once he confirmed they were family, he flipped his attitude faster than turning the page of a book.

"Grandfather, the weather is getting cold. Please take care of your health."

"Haha, you are too kind."

Hanging up, Phoenix let out a long breath, the temperature in her eyes dropping to the freezing point.

"You old fox, I never had any intention of usurping the throne..." she whispered, her voice as light as the wind but chilling to the bone. "I just want this sinking ship called the Prescott Group to completely capsize."

Phoenix stood up, smoothing out her impeccably tailored women's suit, and strode out of the office with a dominating presence.

The moment she stepped out, her special assistant, Yolanda, hurried over.

"Ms. Prescott, the task you asked me to handle is done." She presented a file with both hands.

Phoenix quickly scanned the key information and nodded in satisfaction. "Good work. At lunchtime, you're coming with me to Elysian Manor."
