Alistair remained silent for a long moment before abruptly ending the call.
"Phoenix, as the CEO of the Prescott Group, I hereby strip you of all your executive roles," Warren announced, his chin tilted up as he failed to mask the gleam of triumphant excitement in his eyes. "Please leave the conference room immediately. No, leave the Prescott Group."
Faced with Warren's petty gloating, the corners of Phoenix's lips merely curved into a smirk.
She wasn't angry. She wasn't furious. She honestly just found it... hilarious. It felt like watching a toddler who couldn't win a fight throwing a massive tantrum on the floor. It was painfully immature.
"Phoenix..."
From his wheelchair, Caleb cast an anxious look in her direction.
Phoenix shook her head, silently reassuring him not to worry. Her calm, collected demeanor left the room completely bewildered.
They had all expected her to fly into a rage after being ousted, yet she was chillingly composed.
Ethan furrowed his brows. The situation was now highly unfavorable for him and his son.
They had only managed to claw their way back into the company thanks to Phoenix pulling strings behind the scenes. With her gone, he wasn't sure the two of them alone could hold the line against Warren.
Sensing Ethan's apprehension, Phoenix reached out and patted Caleb's shoulder. "Relax. I may be leaving, but the two projects I'm currently managing are the leverage I'm leaving behind for you."
Caleb's eyes widened in sheer shock.
She was leaving both the Ignis Global and Sterling Group projects in his hands?
"I'll be waiting for your return," Caleb said, taking a deep breath as his eyes burned with fierce determination.
Phoenix flashed a careless smile, effortlessly tossing her hair over her shoulder before walking out of the conference room without a backward glance.
Julian shot up from his seat, wanting to call out to her, but as he stared at her retreating silhouette, the words died in his throat.
Even though she had just been kicked out of the company, there was no trace of defeat in her posture. Instead, it felt like she was the calm before a devastating hurricane.
"Fellow shareholders, let us continue," Warren announced. "Phoenix's scandal has triggered a massive PR nightmare. Therefore, we must draft a public statement as quickly as possible to officially cut all ties with her."
"Next, Barrett will outline our follow-up strategy."
The meeting carried on.
Meanwhile, Phoenix returned to her department.
"Ms. Prescott!" Yolanda Young rushed over the second she saw her, the deep worry etching her features saying everything before she even opened her mouth.
