Outcast Queen: Her Return from Hell novel Chapter 357

“Phoenix, have you lost your mind!” Warren shot up from his chair, his trembling finger pointing at her. “You think twenty-five percent makes you the largest shareholder?”

Alistair half-closed his eyes, his skeletal hand gripping the head of his cane so tightly his knuckles turned white. Bound by the dignity of his former position as patriarch, he forced down his rage, letting Warren play the fool on the front lines.

“Phoenix, I understand that young people crave power, but don't forget the rules of hierarchy,” Alistair rumbled, his deep voice carrying the oppressive weight of a seasoned leader. “You just took the CEO's seat. Your priority should be learning the business, not standing here making a scene.”

“Let me repeat myself, Alistair.” Phoenix leaned back in her chair, a mocking curve appearing on her lips. “As the current largest shareholder of the Prescott Group, you do not have the right to tell me what to do. Face reality. The era of your absolute dictatorship is over.”

“Insolence!” Warren slammed the table and roared. “The shareholders are all watching! The old man holds an absolute thirty percent! Your tiny portion means nothing!”

Right on cue, Yolanda stepped forward and placed a thick folder next to Phoenix.

Without even batting an eyelid, Phoenix tossed the file into the center of the table with a heavy thud. “During the stock's recent nosedive, I conveniently scooped up three percent from the retail investors.” Her voice was calm, yet it exploded through the room like thunder.

Warren let out a furious laugh. “Three percent? That only brings you to twenty-eight. You're still falling short!”

“What if you add my two percent?” Terrence Quinn stood up gracefully, slowly adjusting his tie before raising his voice. “I have decided to unconditionally transfer my two percent stake to Ms. Prescott.”

“Terrence! This is an internal family matter! Why are you interfering?” Warren's eyes were practically bulging out of his head.

Terrence shrugged indifferently, his gaze sweeping over the seated board members. “I'm just a simple businessman. I stand with whoever can make me money. I imagine everyone else sitting here feels the exact same way, right?”

Alistair's expression darkened drastically, and he struck his cane hard against the expensive carpet.

Terrence's casual words were a lethal psychological blow. In the business world, profit always trumped loyalty. With Phoenix currently displaying overwhelming dominance, the shareholders who originally backed Alistair couldn't help but reconsider their allegiances.

“Director Quinn makes a fair point,” one of the major shareholders chuckled nervously, breaking the ice. “Business is business. We only look at the margins; we don't meddle in family affairs.”
