Leonel had stayed up waiting for Autumn, and the tension left him when she returned Her huge site told him she had made quite a haul that night

Leonel handed her a glass of warm milk and said, “Looks like you’re pretty happy with what you found”

Autumn said, “I’m thrilled! Those parasites had an unbelievable amount of stuff hidden away. Leonel, I have a feeling that ifram clean out the entire villa district, Aurora Base will have enough supplies to keep 100,000 people alive until the very end

Leonel was just as pleased, but he reminded her, “That’s great and all, but you’ve been out all night. You need some rest, so eat something before you go to sleep. Don’t go to bed on an empty stomach.”

“Got it.” Autumn took a steaming boxed meal from her storage space. Before setting out, she had asked David arid his apprentices to prepare a large batch of boxed meals.

The meal smelled wonderful and looked just as good, making it ideal for nights when she couldn’t eat at home.

After eating her fill, Autumn fell asleep the moment her head hit the pillow.

She slept soundly while the central shelter descended into chaos.

Three villas had been raided overnight, and every resident had vanished without a trace.

The houses had been stripped completely bare, right down to the floor tiles.

The scale of the losses left the shelter’s leaders badly shaken.

They gathered to decide what to do.

Warren demanded, “Mr. Gound, my son is missing, and everything my family owned has been stolen. Don’t you think the shelter owes me an explanation? You claimed the central shelter was the safest place in all of Drakoria. We never would’ve moved our entire family here otherwise.”

The head of the York family, who backed Warren, spoke next. “I’d also like to know how something like this happened in a shelter that’s supposed to be secure, Mr. Gound. Warren works for me, so whoever did this was clearly challenging my authority”

Just then, the second victim arrived.

Despite his limp, the man moved so quickly that he nearly broke into a run.

As soon as he arrived, he cried, “Mr. Gound, you have to do something! More than 100 members of my family are missing if shadn’t spent the night elsewhere, I probably would’ve vanished too. But what I really don’t understand is how anyone could strip my entire house in one night without making a sound. At least the others still have walls. My house doesn’t even have a roof

The third victim arrived moments later, sobbing. “Everything I own is gone! I don’t even want to live anymore

Gordon’s head pounded as he tried to regain control of the room. “Are you accusing me? Why would I need to do something la this? I’m wealthier than any of you.”

No Tro, Mr. Gound. We don’t suspect you. We suspect someone else,” the three victims said in unison before exchanging wary

looks.

Noah walked in without greeting Gordon, pulled out a chair, and sat down. “One or two people couldn’t possibly have pulled this off. They hit three families in one night. That would’ve taken a lot of people, probably a group of at least 100. So how did they get past the patrols, slip inside without making a sound, and then disappear without a trace?”

Jude arrived next and sat across from Noah. “I agree. They must’ve had help from the inside. There’s no way an outside group could’ve pulled this off alone.”

Kevin sat down as well. “If I remember correctly, Mr. Gound has always been in charge of security in the villa district

Gordon let out a humorless laugh. “So after all that, you still suspect me? Do you really think don’t know what you’re after

Noah replied, “That’s not what I’m saying, Mr. Gound. The central shelter belongs to all four families, not just one I only want this dealt with before it happens again. If word spreads, everyone in the shelter will panic, and that could throw the entire shelter into chaos. Wouldn’t you agree?”

Jude said sarcastically, “Exactly. Yesterday, they went after a few lesser figures. Who will they target today or tomorrow? How long before one of us is next? Mr. Gound, we’ve always stood together against outside threats. Now that this has happened, it’s only natural that we sit down and find a solution together.”
