For three nights in a row, a killer targeted the home of a randomly chosen tycoon.
No matter how tight the security was or how well prepared the residents were, everyone inside was slaughtered before the house and everyone in it vanished without a trace.
They had once loved how far apart the villas were because the distance gave the peace, privacy, and comfort.
Now they wished the villas had been built closer together, so the neighbors might notice an attack and raise the alarm before it was too late.
The killer came and went like a ghost, and no one knew when they arrived or left.
Everyone who might’ve known was already dead.
The pounding acid rain masked both sound and scent.
It also washed away any evidence left behind.
On the third night, a rocket slammed into one of the villas, and the shelter’s parasites finally realized just how powerful their enemy was. Whoever was attacking them had weapons powerful enough to terrify even them.
The representatives of the Carters, the Blakes, and the Yorks confronted Gordon again and demanded answers. “Mr. Gound, what s going on?”
Jude said, “If I remember correctly, you control all the shelter’s heavy weapons, don’t you, Mr. Gound? Don’t tell me those penniless wretches outside somehow got their hands on a rocket launcher!”
Gordon asked coldly, “So you still suspect me? Do you think I handed them a rocket launcher?”
Kevin finally lost his patience. “Who else could it be? You’ve never liked our three families, Mr. Gound, so you decided to send us a warning. Fine. We let it slide. But you’ve gone too far. We helped put you in power, and we can just as easily replace you!”
Gordon finally snapped. He slammed his hand on the table. “Enough! You made enemies outside the shelter, and now they’ve come for revenge, but you’re still trying to pin this on me. Do you really think I’m that easy to blame? Are you seriously claiming none of you has enemies out there?”
The three representatives had no answer.
A flicker of guilt crossed each of their faces.
They hadn’t been decent people before the apocalypse, and they certainly hadn’t improved afterward. They had committed more than their share of crimes, but they had always covered their tracks well enough to avoid being exposed
Still, someone might’ve discovered the truth, or one of their victims might’ve survived and come back for revenge

Noah said, “We let our anger get the better of us. Ms Gound is right. We shouldn’t make accusations without evidenza
Jude said, “Then who are these people, and why are they only targeting our men? You must have enemies cutude too, Mr Gand so why haven’t any of your people been hit?”
Gordon’s expression tightened.
Gordon replied, “I wouldn’t know. Maybe all my enemies died in the apocalypse before they got the chance to come to me sympathize with your losses, but I swear I had absolutely nothing to do with this!”
Kevin was about to speak, but Noah, discreetly tugged at his sleeve, silencing him.
Gordon stormed off while the three representatives stayed behind to discuss their next move.
