Elora wasted no time in tearing open the envelope, her heart racing with anticipation. Tears welled
up in her eyes as she unfolded the contents, revealing copies of her birth certificate and study
diplomas. The weight of the moment hit her like a tidal wave, and she could barely contain her
emotions.
“Thank you,” she managed to choke out, her voice thick with emotion as tears streamed down her
cheeks. “Finally, I’ll be able to find a job,” she said, her words a mix of gratitude and relief.
Tim could not help himself from offering her a sympathetic smile, his own heart swelling with
empathy for her plight. “You’re welcome,” he replied to her, this time more friendly. “I’m glad I could
help.”
After some moments of thinking, she turned to him, and after she cleared her voice, she asked
him, “Do you know by any chance how I can change my name?
Elora’s request caught Tim off guard, and he couldn’t hide his surprise. “Change your name?” he repeated, his brows furrowing in confusion. “Why would you want to do that?”
Elora’s gaze hardened as she met his eyes. “Because firstly, I’m on a terror list,” she said, her voice tinged with frustration and hurt. “And secondly, because Elora Black is dead. She died ten weeks
ago in the woods.”
Tim’s heart twisted with sympathy as he took in her words. He could sense the weight of her
burden, the pain of her past weighing heavily on her shoulders. Despite the gravity of her request, he found himself nodding in understanding. “I see,” he murmured, his voice softening. “I’ll look into
it and let Aunt Mary know.”
Just then, his phone rang, and he noticed the caller ID displaying ‘Alpha.’ With a quick apology, Tim
excused himself from the room to take the call. After a few quick exchanges, he returned inside
and looked at his aunt conflicted, “I am afraid that I need to leave. Azriel needs me back urgently.
“Uh, that boy, tell him to slow down. Life is not only about business, wealth, and power.” Aunt Mary
replied, unhappy.
Tim smiled sadly in her direction, “I know, I know, but can you blame him? Avril was everything to
him. He never actually recovered after he lost her and his wolf in unhinged.”
“But he will need an heir, it is vital. Now he is lucky that he is friends with King Markus, but Markus will not be able to defend him in front of the Council forever.” Mary replied in a hushed voice.
“Goodbye, Lora and good luck!” he waved at the girl who was still looking at the papers.

“Goodbye Tim and thank you so much once again. I promise that I will return the favor someday.” the girl replied with more courage this time.
After they exited the house, as Aunt Mary walked with him towards the car, Tim asked, “So, will she
contínue to live here with you?”
After a pause, his aunt replied, “I will tell you a story, but please do not repeat it to anyone.”
Tim’s mind raced as he listened about Elora’s heartbreaking story. He struggled to comprehend how someone could endure such hardships and still find the strength to carry on. The banishment, the rejection, the frame-up, each revelation weighed heavily on him, stirring a mix of anger and
disbelief.
As Aunt Mary finished her tale, Tim’s shock lingered, “How could anyone survive all that?” he/ muttered, his voice thick with emotion. “How could her own flesh and blood betray her like this? How could a mate do this to his own fated one, especially an Alpha? And losing her wolf?”
Aunt Mary placed a comforting hand on his arm, her gaze filled with empathy. “Now you understand why I felt compelled to help her,” she said softly.
Tim nodded, his thoughts swirling with conflicting emotions. He had promised Aunt Mary not to divulge Elora’s story to anyone, but he couldn’t shake the feeling that this was a burden he would carry with him for a long time.
“I will try to find a way to help her change her name. She deserves it,” Tim replied, before jumping in
the car and waving goodbye.
Once Mary was back inside she heard Lora crying, “What happened, dear?” she asked gently.
Elora sniffled, trying to compose herself before responding. “They’re happy tears. Not sure why I
am crying that much today, I just feel very emotional,” she managed to say, a small smile breaking
through her tears. “I’ll never be able to repay you for everything you’ve done for me, Mary.”
Mary reached out and placed a comforting hand on Elora’s shoulder. “There’s no need for
repayment, dear,” she said warmly. “I’m just glad I could help.”
Elora took a deep breath, wiping away her tears. “Thank you,” she whispered.
Mary smiled, then asked, “What do you intend to do now?”
Elora’s expression turned determined. “First, I’ll find a job, the rest can wait,” she replied, her voice
filled with newfound resolve.
