As Elora sat with Mary one evening, after Asher’s third month anniversary, she expressed her desire to return to work. “I think it’s time,” she began, her voice tinged with uncertainty.

Mary nodded, her expression thoughtful. “Have you considered going back to your studies?” she

asked, her tone gentle.

Elora’s eyes widened at the suggestion, a glimmer of hope flickering within her. “I’ve thought about it,” she admitted, “but with Asher and everything…”

acknowledged, “but pursuing your dream might be worth it in the long run.”

start? I don’t have money for tuition, and what would I do with Asher and my expenses? You are

kind enough to let us live with you, but it can’t go on like this, Mary. I feel like I am taking advantage

of you. You were an angel in our lives,” she replied out loud.

Mary smiled encouragingly. “You could look into scholarships,” she suggested. “There might be opportunities out there that you haven’t considered. Regarding you staying here, we discussed this

already; there are absolutely no problems. Since my family’s death in a rogue attack, I have never found peace anymore. My heart and home were empty. That is the reason why I left the pack. The pain was just too great to be alone in a big house. But since I have you and Asher in my life, I feel

that I have a family again. So never feel that you are owing me anything. On the contrary, I am the

grateful one to share this journey with the two of you. I always dreamed of having grandchildren

and Asher took this spot in my heart.”

“Thank you, Mary, for everything,” Elora replied, smiling at her.

“So, what do you say about returning to school? Think about this as a long-term investment which will help you offer your son more in the long run.” Mary pressed.
