Friend or Foe?-1
Once Alpha Carter and Alice departed, Azriel led Elora and King Markus to his private office. Elora sát tensely in one of the chairs, her hands clasped tightly in her lap, her gaze flickering nervously towards the Werewolf King. Azriel noticed her apprehension and gently placed a reassuring hand
on her shoulder.
“Lora, there’s no need to be nervous,” Azriel said softly. “King Markus is a friend. He’s here to
support us. You have nothing to worry about.”
Markus smiled warmly at Elora, his demeanor kind and approachable despite his imposing presence. “Please, call me Markus,” he said. “I’ve known Azriel for many years, and I’ve heard so
much about you. It’s an honor to finally meet you.”
Elora managed a small smile, feeling a bit more at ease, but still tense. “It’s an honor to meet you too, … Markus,” she replied, her voice steadying.
Markus took a seat across from Elora, his eyes filled with curiosity and kindness. “Azriel has told me about your journey and the challenges you’ve faced. I want you to know that you have my full support. The bond between you and Azriel is sacred, and it’s clear that you belong together. The Moon Goddess always knows what we need; we might not always understand her ways, but never
lose hope.”
Elora nodded, her tension easing further with Markus’s words. “Thank you, Markus. It means a lot
to have your support.”
Azriel squeezed her shoulder gently, feeling a surge of pride and love for Elora. “Lora, Markus is not just a king but also a wise leader. He understands the importance of second chances and the strength it takes to overcome adversity.”
Azriel glanced at Markus, a hint of seriousness in his eyes. “Markus, I have a favor to ask, in
confidence.”
Markus, intrigued, leaned forward slightly. “What is it, Azriel?”
“We would like access to the royal archives, to be able to study some old records,” Azriel said.
“This is an unusual request coming from you; can I know the reason?” Markus replied in a curious
tone.
Azriel turned to Elora, his expression gentle yet encouraging. “Lora, are you comfortable sharing?”
Elora took a deep breath, her hands clasped tightly together. After a moment of silence, she met Markus’s gaze and began to speak. “Markus, I’m a doctor. And although I don’t have a wolf, I

possess unique healing abilities. I can identify diseases by touch. Azriel and I would like access tó the royal archives to learn more about these abilities and how to harness them better, and also to see if there are any side effects to my unusual gift.””
Markus’s eyebrows shot up in surprise, clearly taken aback by her revelation. He sat back, processing the information. “That’s… extraordinary,” he finally said, his tone filled with awe and curiosity. “I’ve never heard of such a gift for a non-shifter. And you’re certain you don’t have a wolf?”
Elora nodded. “Yes, I’m sure. Unfortunately, I lost my wolf years ago. But these abilities have manifested after and not when I had a wolf. I’ve been cautious about using them because I lack knowledge. The royal archives might have information that could help me understand and control
these abilities better.”
Markus looked thoughtful, his fingers tapping lightly on the armrest of his chair. “Access to the royal archives is highly restricted, but given the circumstances, I believe this is a worthy exception Healing abilities like yours could be incredibly beneficial to the kingdom. Plus, we don’t want you to be in any danger or suffer any significant backlash.”
Azriel’s gaze softened as he watched Elora, pride evident in his eyes.
Markus nodded slowly; his expression resolute. “You have my permission to access the royal archives. I’ll arrange for you to have the necessary access and guidance.”
Elora’s eyes filled with gratitude, and she took Azriel’s hand, squeezing it gently. “Thank you,
Markus. This means more than I can express. I promise to use this knowledge wisely and for the benefit of our people.”
Markus smiled warmly. “I have no doubt you will, lora. Your gift is a blessing from the Moon Goddess, and I’m honored to help you unlock its full potential,”
