Restoring My Heart: After the Divorce novel Chapter 9

She rasped out his name in a broken whisper.

The suffocating agony of the past few days erupted all at once.

"York!"

Nora's voice ripped through the air as she charged toward him like a woman possessed.

"Nora!"

Piper instantly sprinted after her.

York clearly hadn't anticipated running into his wife here. His expression immediately darkened to a terrifying degree.

"York, who is she?" Sienna asked, looking at him with wide, innocent confusion.

York hurriedly transferred the little girl into Sienna's arms and shielded them as they climbed into his chauffeured Bentley.

"Head back to the hotel. I'll come find you later."

He slammed the door, and the Bentley smoothly pulled away from the curb.

Nora lunged forward, trying to chase the car.

Just as she reached the edge of the street, York caught her around the waist, hauling her back.

His deep, icy voice lashed out in furious reprimand.

"Are you done making a scene?"

"Me? A scene?"

Nora stared at him in sheer disbelief, her eyes swimming with bitter tears.

"What scene am I making?! Didn't you say you were swamped with work?!"

She pointed hysterically in the direction the Bentley had vanished, screaming at the top of her lungs.

"Is this what you meant by busy?! Don't you think you owe me an explanation, York?!"

Catching sight of the growing crowd of onlookers gathering to gawk, York scowled heavily. His massive hand locked tightly around Nora's wrist, dragging her toward a secondary town car waiting nearby.

"Calm down. Whatever you have to say, say it in the car."

"I'm not getting in!"
