"Get in or don't. If you don't, I'm leaving." Summer Vance turned the key in the ignition, bringing the engine to life.

Lily Sutton remained firmly seated in the passenger side, leaving Xavier Sterling no choice but to carry Hunter Sutton into the backseat.

The wolf had followed Summer into the car.

How could a wolf have so many facial expressions?

Summer slammed her foot on the gas, and the car shot forward like an arrow released from a bow.

"Summer!" Xavier roared. "Slow down! Lily is pregnant!"

Before his sentence even ended, Summer accelerated.

The engine roared.

The car darted through the lanes like a nimble fish.

Even late at night, the main roads were packed with traffic. Multiple times, Summer merged aggressively, missing the neighboring cars by mere inches.

The entire ride was a thrilling, adrenaline-fueled nightmare.

Horns blared in an endless cacophony, overlapping with the furious shouts of other drivers tearing through the night.

"Are you rushing to your grave?! You think you own the road just because you drive a luxury car?! Try me, I'll ram right into you!"

Summer rolled down her window and yelled back, "Sorry! There's a pregnant woman in the car, she's about to die!"

Xavier was so angry he bellowed, "Summer, what is wrong with you?! Pull over!"

Hunter burst into terrified tears, burying his face into Xavier's chest. "Is the wicked witch trying to kill us?!"

"She's so evil, wahhh..."

Fang happily howled from the back, clearly enjoying the ride.

The cabin was entirely too chaotic. Summer hit a button, raising the privacy partition.
