Xavier didn't even flinch. He didn't take the threat seriously at all, assuming this was just another one of Summer's manipulative tactics. Running away from home was honestly a rather juvenile move.

Especially since she had purposefully used Mrs. Gable as her mouthpiece.

Xavier simply instructed Mrs. Gable to memorize Lily and Hunter's dietary restrictions and preferences, then ordered her to prepare two guest bedrooms.

Once Lily and Hunter were settled in, Xavier finally made his way to the master bedroom to see Summer.

He wanted to see if she was actually going through with this runaway stunt.

But just as he stepped into the room, his personal phone rang with an unknown number.

This was his private line. Barely anyone had it. Furthermore, his phone was equipped with a top-tier security interception system. Any call that managed to get through was definitely not a spammer.

Xavier answered the call. "Hello?"

The voice on the other end sounded confused. "Hi, I'm looking for Ms. Scumbag."

Xavier frowned. "Ms... Scumbag? You have the wrong number."

A moment later, the phone rang again. It was the exact same number.

Xavier hung up, but the person kept calling back, relentlessly. They seemed fully prepared to call until the end of time if he kept ignoring it.

Just as Xavier was about to block the number, the phone rang once more, and he accidentally swiped to answer.

"Ms. Scumbag?"

Xavier's brow furrowed in deep irritation. "I said you have the wrong number!"

Summer, with her sharp hearing, had already caught the word 'Scumbag' and was mildly surprised.

She hadn't expected it to be the street-racing kid from last night.

She had rattled off the number exactly once, speaking incredibly fast, over the blaring noise of traffic—yet he had actually remembered it.

The kid's hearing and memory were genuinely impressive.

Xavier shoved his phone into his pocket and looked toward Summer. He was about to speak when he noticed Leo was still in the room.
