Summer sprinted into the bedroom and was just about to slam the door shut when a large hand firmly blocked the heavy wooden panel.

"Xavier, I said I'm not going."

"That's not up to you. You're coming with me." Xavier grabbed her wrist and roughly dragged her out of the room, hauling her downstairs.

Summer stumbled as he pulled her like a lifeless object. She nearly crashed onto the floor, the violent pulling tearing at the injury on her lower back, sending a piercing throb of agony through her.

She didn't dare resist with too much force, nor did she have the strength to.

"I said I'm not going! Xavier, let me go!"

"You bastard, that hurts! Let go of me!"

"Let go, you're breaking my arm!"

"Sir, please just talk it out," Mrs. Gable pleaded, hurrying over after hearing the commotion. "Ma'am didn't mean any harm by pulling up the tulips. She probably just got tired of seeing them and wanted to plant something new."

Mrs. Gable assumed Xavier was still throwing a fit over the garden.

"Watch Leo tonight, Mrs. Gable." Xavier didn't break his stride, practically marching Summer out the front door.

There was nothing Mrs. Gable could do. She was just a maid, and could only let out a helpless sigh.

Summer was forcefully shoved into the car. The doors immediately locked, trapping her inside.

"Drive."

The bodyguard started the engine.

Summer collapsed against the seatback. A suffocating wave of pain left her face pale and her forehead beaded with a cold sweat.

Xavier glanced over at her, frowning. "Didn't I loosen my grip toward the end?"

Summer gave a sarcastic smirk, closed her eyes, and ignored him.

Halfway through the drive, Xavier's phone suddenly rang.

"Don't panic. Protect yourself and don't get into a fight with them. I'll be right there!"

The gentleness in his voice as he took the call was something he didn't even seem to realize. Summer immediately guessed it had to be Lily on the other end.

Hanging up, Xavier ordered the bodyguard to turn the car around.

Summer asked, "Where are we going? Aren't we going to the estate anymore?"

Xavier gave the driver a new address. "My grandfather's men are trying to force Lily out of the country. We're going to pick her up."
