Fang let out two sharp barks at Hunter, sounding exactly as though he were backing Leo up.

Lily Sutton really did raise an excellent wolf!

Summer silently decided she was going to feed the beast an extra chicken leg for lunch.

Hunter was furious. Seeing Xavier walk over, he ran up and grabbed the man's hand. "Uncle Xavier brought me here! This is Uncle Xavier's house! Uncle Xavier said I can play with whatever I want here, everything belongs to me!"

After declaring this, he smugly stuck his tongue out at Leo, making an ugly face.

What an obnoxious, ill-mannered little brat.

Summer scoffed. "My name is on the deed. This is my house. Without my permission, you and your aunt barging in here makes you trespassers. Do you understand?"

"You're lying! This is Uncle Xavier's house!" Hunter looked up at Xavier, refusing to back down. "Uncle Xavier, isn't that right?"

Xavier frowned. "Summer, do you really have to stoop to the level of a child? How old are you?"

"Stoop to his level?" Summer laughed incredulously. "He insulted me, and he insulted your son. Are you completely deaf? Or just selectively so?"

Xavier instinctively deflected. "He's just a kid. He didn't mean it."

Summer let out a cold chuckle. "So if someone commits unintentional manslaughter, they don't have to go to prison? Is that the logic we're using?"

Faced with Summer's relentless, aggressive pushback, impatience flared in Xavier's eyes. "Don't change the subject!"

"The ancients said: you can see what a man will become by the time he's three. Steal a needle as a kid, steal a cow as an adult. When he grows up, he'll either be a useless leech or absolute scum. Why did you bring trash like this back here? I'm worried he'll infect my son. Where's his actual father? Tell him to get this kid out of my house." Summer didn't mince words, delivering the insult like a slap to the face.

Lily's expression turned incredibly ugly, but she kept her mouth shut. She knew Xavier would defend her and handle everything.
