The Alpha King's Mind Reading Maid (Cecilia) novel Chapter 156

Chapter 156

Cecilia’s POV

“Your Majesty, I didn’t condone any of this,” Landon said, shaking his head. “Destroying Cecilia’s room was never part of the plan.”

“She deserved it after what she had done,” Sophia replied, folding her arms across her chest. “She told my necklace.”

“Your necklace?” Leopold repeated, his gaze snapping toward her. “Did I tell you it was yours to keep?”

Sophia visibly faltered.

“Well…no,” she admitted, her voice dropping slightly to hide her frustration. “But it was mine for the evening. I mean… she stole it from me. She caused problems for the other girls and for me. We welcomed her, and how she’s acting out because you’ve been spending time with other women… better women.”

Her eyes narrowed into slits at that last part.

I remained standing in the center of the room, calm on the outside, though everything inside me felt anything but. There was no point in arguing with her. Once Sophia decided on something, she clung to it as if it were the truth, no matter how baseless it

was.

And somehow-that hurt more than expected.

My gaze stayed fixed on Leopold.

His expression gave nothing away, but his eyes moved constantly, scanning the room, assessing every detail. For a moment, I didn’t understand why he remained so quiet.

But then I felt it… or better yet… I heard him.

Warren.

“They destroyed everything,” his voice echoed low in my mind, a deep, dangerous growl beneath it.

And suddenly, it made sense.

Leopold wasn’t silent because he didn’t care; he was silent because he was holding himself back. He might not be able to hear Warren as I could, but he could certainly feel his anger.

“Kill…kill…kill.”

The repetition made my chest tighten.

If he lost control now, no one in the room would walk away unscathed.

Before I could think better of it, I moved toward him.

“What do you think you’re doing?” My father snapped, his lips pressed in a thin line as he glared at me. “You have no right to approach the King after what you’ve done.”

“It would be in your best interest to stop speaking,” Landon said, his tone low and edged with warning.

I never heard Landon sound quite so angry; it was chilling.

Leopold’s jaw clenched tightly, and a low growl slipped from his throat… deep and animalistic. For a split second, his eyes flashed gold, and my breath caught.

Warren was right there, just beneath the surface.

Without hesitation, I reached out and placed my hand on his arm. His body tensed even more beneath my touch.

His head shifted toward me, and when his eyes met mine, I couldn’t tell who I was looking at.

Leopold…. Or Warren.

I opened my mouth to speak, but before I could, a hand wrapped violently around my wrist and yanked me back with enough force to tear my arm from its socket.

“You bitch,” Diana snarled. “You have no right to touch the King. What is wrong with you? Not only did you steal from my daughter, but you dared approach His Majesty and lay your filthy Omega hands on him? You should be hanged for what you’ve done.”

“That is enough.”

The words came out as a deep, commanding growl, freezing the entire room.
