Chapter 215
‘s happening again,” one of the servants whispered fearfully as the room shook.
Sophia’s expression darkened immediately.
“Why hasn’t Landon fixed this already?” She snapped. “The entire palace sounds like it’s falling apart.”
I knew the reason why Landon hadn’t fixed this yet… it was because he couldn’t. Warren couldn’t communicate with him, therefore, there was no fixing this. Not without me at least… the sooner he realizes that the sooner we can get Leopold back to normal. 1
Another crash echoed violently through the halls; it sounded closer this time. A servant yelled as dust drifted from the ceiling, landing neatly on the decorated tables.
Sophia huffed and folded her arms across her chest again, pressing her lips in a thin line.
“He’s going to ruin this banquet,” she muttered.
The doors of the ballroom opened, and we all spun around to see Landon standing before us. His hair was a mess, and he looked a bit paler than usual. He had dark circles beneath his eyes, proving that he hadn’t slept, and my chest felt heavy with anticipation, wondering what it was he was about to say.
“Landon, why is my mate still acting like this?” Sophia asked, narrowing her eyes. “Shouldn’t you have fixed it by now?”
Landon’s gaze snapped to Sophia, and it was colder than I had ever seen it.
“Return to your chambers, Lady Sophia,” he ordered, his tone low and lethal.
She blinked, clearly taken aback by his tone.
“Excuse me?” She asked, her voice coming out barely above a whisper. Even she wouldn’t dare speak to the King’s right-hand man with disrespect… but she also expected him to respect her as his Queen.
“This matter has nothing to do with you. It’s safer for you to return to your room… immediately.”
She blinked again, her cheeks burning red with embarrassment.
She glanced around the room for a moment, her eyes landing on me.
Sophia looked furious, but she pulled her gaze away from me long enough to look at Landon.
“And what about Cecilia? Shouldn’t she be leaving, too?”
“Cecilia has a job to do,” he murmured. “Again, it has nothing to do with you.”
I stiffened at his words; Sophia huffed, but she didn’t argue like I expected her to.
Instead, she flipped her hair over her shoulder and walked out, her head held high like she was royalty. I had to stifle an eye roll.
“I didn’t want to ask… in fact, he asked me not to,” Landon said, his eyes finding mine. “But it can’t go on any further. He will destroy this entire palace… please… the King needs you, Cecilia.”
I swallowed the lump in my throat, and I nodded as I put the banner on the table and followed Landon out of the ballroom. We walked in silence across the palace and up the stairs until we reached the King’s study. I was honestly surprised there was any study left… he had been in here for days, destroying everything in sight.

Then again, I knew he had traveled elsewhere on this floor, destroying other rooms as well. I was afraid to see What the library looked like.
I paused my eyes, finding the broken furniture that littered the halls, while deep claw marks carved through the walls themselves. Several guards stood outside Leopold’s study, looking visibly shaken, no one daring to enter.
Some of them had gashes on their faces and stood like their legs hurt to keep them up.
“He won’t let anyone near him,” one of the guards informed Landon.
Landon only nodded.
“He will let her,” he said softly and the certainty in his voice made me relax a little.
