The Cold Surgeon's Contract Bride novel Chapter 133

Zelda eagerly explained that Zoey was also apartment hunting and had just found a great spot that very day. It was in Hawthorn Residences, only three subway stops from Capital General.

"It's a two-bedroom," Zelda said, glancing back and forth between me and Zoey. "Zoey was just worrying about finding a decent roommate. Since you're looking for a place too, maybe you two could split the rent."

The younger girl gave me a timid, polite look. "I'm totally fine with that, if Selena is open to it."

I felt completely cornered.

My gaze shifted to Zelda, whose face was plastered with what looked like a friendly, harmless smile.

But if they had overheard me talking about looking for a place, they must have also heard me specifically ask about the dorms, not a private rental.

Besides, Zoey was currently the apple of Ferris's eye. Living with her? What was I supposed to do, sit back and watch my husband play house with this young intern in our shared apartment?

I couldn't stomach it.

I was just about to decline when the head nurse gave my hand a meaningful squeeze. "I know Hawthorn Residences. It's a gorgeous community and super close to the station. You should really go take a look."

I stared at her in shock, but feeling the subtle pressure of her grip on my fingers, I finally nodded. "Alright. Let's set a time to go see it."

"No time like the present," Zelda chimed in, taking charge. She shot Zoey a knowing look. "I'll text the real estate agent right now. We can head over right after work."

Zoey immediately turned to me. "Does that work for you?"

I didn't say no.
