218 Beyond heaven and hell
They appeared in the western section of Celestia, the imperial city, directly in front of the royal mansion, which was illuminated brightly in the middle of the night and watched over by sentries at every turn.
Danil was the owner of the royal mansion. This was his favorite mansion and it was filled with lots of half–naked women walking around, giggling.
Soft music resounded.
Without saying anything more, they were all shown to their rooms by elegantly attired maids, as though they had all anticipated such a scene and atmosphere. It had been a long day, and they just wanted to be done with it.
Curling into a ball in the king–size bed, Ophelia’s thoughts drifted back to what had happened that day.
Nikolai stood with his back to the closed door, staring at her. “Will you listen to me if I tell you to forget about it?”
“No.” Ophelia sniffed.
Nikolai acknowledged her candor with a nod. “This is Danil’s estate. It is always hosting lavish parties and is usually teeming with women. There will be one in a few hours. Are you be interested in going?”
“I am not certain,” Ophelia murmured. “I do not want to.”
Nikolai sighed heavily. “Ophelia.”
Tears filled Ophelia’s eyes. “My name is FireStorm.” Whimpering, she
clutched the duvet.
Nikolai’s pupils dilated. Her words… It dawned on him then that her hurt stemmed not from her brother but from everything she had said and done to him. Her regret was evident.

He approached her, seized her clothing, and pulled her from the bed.
She yelped and gasped as he wrapped his arms tightly around her body. “Nikolai, you…”
“I am not upset; I am just a little disappointed.” He muttered, burying his
face in the crook of her neck.
Ophelia pursed her lips. She tensed up, her gaze locked on the rugged, dark floor. “I am sorry.” And tears streamed down her cheeks.
Nikolai said nothing. It only heightened her anxiety, and she stiffened her body even more. Because of her brother, she had disobeyed him… A lack of trust… She felt terrible!
“When I dropped you off with Esmeralda, I ran into Lev talking to the spirit. He told her to murder you so that he could kill me more easily.” Nikolai
revealed nonchalantly. “I came close to killing him.”
“Explains the blood. Lev’s blood.” Ophelia muttered, her body relaxing slowly. Nikolai’s warmth was taking over so smoothly. She was lost in the proximity, dwelling in his comfort, finding no reason to let her tears flow no
more.
“How did you find out he is a fire god?” She questioned.
“After you passed out, he started acting really strangely. It was as if he was peacefully pushing out everything he had been holding back.” –
“And Danil is a blood moon god.” That realization shocked Ophelia greatly.
“He is like Lev. Keeping their original essence while allowing themselves to be reborn.” Nikolai answered, making it clear from his harsh tone that he was not entirely pleased. “I had no idea he was a blood moon god.”
Ophelia smiled. “At the very least, he is not trying to kill you.”
“I am not sure if it is a good thing or a bad thing.” Nikolai mumbled, planting

a soft kiss on the side of her neck.
Ophelia closed her eyes smiling. “Do you truly forgive me?”
“I will never be angry with you.” Nikolai turned her to face him. Her face tingled with tears, and he could not help but sigh.
“What a whiner you are.” Grinning, he cupped her face with his slightly bloodied hands and gently wiped her tears with his thumbs.
Sensationally heated by his touch, Ophelia pursed her lips. “I am not.”
Nikolai nodded, his ears picking up on her stomach growling. He widened his eyes. “Goddess! You have not eaten!”
Ophelia coughed, putting her hand over her mouth. “Not a single drop of
water.”
Taking a deep breath, Nikolai lowered his head. “Let us take a bath together.”
Ophelia’s eyes widened, her face flushed. “Okay.”
Nikolai’s lips quirked. He scooped her in his arms and he entered the bathroom. Carefully, he placed her to her feet in front of the fully heated bubble filled bathing pool.
Every corner had lights positioned, softly reflecting in the water and creating an ethereal reflection against the walls.
Breathing deeply, Ophelia looked at Nikolai, who was taking off his bloodied shirt while maintaining a heated gaze on her.
She gulped. She was familiar with that look, but why did it seem hotter? Her gaze was drawn to his long veiny fingers, which were snatching the rope
that held his shirt at his chest.
She gulped again. A close–up of his hard chest. She reached out to him, holding her head high.
