227 Dol have to respond to that?
227 Do I have to respond to that?
Sitting in a dark corner of his chamber, Vladimir stared out the window with a lifeless expression.
Even though it was still pouring rain and he could see the drops gliding on the glass, he was not feeling particularly excited.
Although the eternal winter had ended, he could not celebrate. Not with the Blood Moon just a few hours away.
What significance did the blood moon hold for him?
It would be his second time witnessing it.
Despite being the only child ever registered in Celestia to be born on the blood moon night all those centuries ago, Nikolai’s birth was relatively peaceful.
It was a pleasant day for the family. A new family member, the heir to the
throne….
The family felt larger, more complete.
But everything that had occurred since Nikolai’s birth night to this day… Vladimir did not want to think about it.
He had already lost his father, and he did not want to lose his mother,
brother, sister, or anyone!
He did not want to lose Celestia!
His eyes welled up with tears, and he sniffled, burying his face between his knees. “I…I can not do this, father.”
“How can a bridge be this emotional?” A familiar voice suddenly erupted from the far corner of the room. “It is so sad. Pathetic. Ick!”

Vladimir felt a shiver run down his spine and jumped to his feet, pressing his back against the wall as if it were a way out.
Valerian, who sat on the edge of the bed, was staring at him with a teasing smile on his lips. “Take a look at those eye bags. You are so depressed.”
Vladimir held his breath. “What are you doing here?”
“I am here to see you. The entire kingdom is celebrating. I am pretty sure the entire world is celebrating. But this castle is so bleak, and this room is even worse.” The blood moon god responded, his red eyes full of wonder and amusement.
Vladimir narrowed his eyes and pulled away from the wall. “You abducted me. You knocked me out when we arrived in a strange mansion. I didn’t even get to see the person you were so eager to see, and then…”
“I knocked you out because I did not want you to see who I was so eager to see.” Valerian interrupted, rising to his feet. “You should understand that I am extremely loyal to the supreme master, and because he adores this family of his, it follows that I must share the same ambitions he has for you
all.”
Then he smirked. “You, especially.”
Vladimir clenched his teeth. “I do not need your protection. I do not like your presence, so get out!” He snapped, pointing at the door.
Valerian laughed, greatly amused. “Cute. But I did not come here to be
thrown out.”
Vladimir lowered his arm, clenching his fists. “What exactly do you want from me? Are you not supposed to prepare for the blood moon, or whatever?”
Valerian shook his head, disappointed. “You are such a cute coward. I am supposed to tell you all of that.” He walked up to him and slammed his hand

against the wall.
Vladimir froze in shock as he looked up at the blood moon god’s face and he actually felt jealous.
Valerian, like his brother and cousins, had powerful builds and incredible heights, but he was very squirmy in comparison to them.
He was tall, but not as tall as them or the blood moon god, who was looking down at him with great intensity.
“So you want me to prepare to die?” He asked, frowning deeply.
“You think preparing for the blood moon means dying?” Valerian laughed softly.
“Nikolai will be controlled and transformed into a mindless bloodthirsty god, so yes. I do not have a suicide kink, thank you very much.”
He turned to leave, but Valerian slammed his second hand against the wall right in front of his face, making him stiffen in surprise.
“Please, let me go.”
“If you refuse, I will carry you over my shoulder, coward.” Valerian hissed.
Vladimir took a deep breath and returned his gaze to his face. “What is your problem? Do you even have a plan?”
“There are gods who are willing to defend Nikolai and the sun goddess against the other gods.” Valerian began, his eyes flashing brightly. “Nikolai’s primary goal is to protect Ophelia from the other gods, but we cannot overlook the fact that he will be mindless.”
“So, what do you want me to do?” Vladimir arched his brow.
“I want you to merge with the moon goddess as quickly as possible.”
Vladimir instantly burst out laughing. “Merge with the Moon Goddess?”

His laughter instantly turned to tears. “I did not ask for this power, nor did I ask to be the bridge? Why would you…”
“Merging with the moon goddess means meeting her and borrowing half of her abilities to enhance your own. It will give you enough power to keep the blood moon stable. In order to prevent the unstable effects from spreading beyond Celestia.” Valerian explained immediately.
Vladimir was dumbfounded. “Wh… What?”
“The blood moon ritual, which is supposed to be performed by the supreme master, has not been performed in a long time. If the supreme master reappears unexpectedly, the instability will worsen. You must stabilize the effects of the blood moon.”
“But I thought only the moonstone could accomplish that.” Vladimir
couldn’t believe it.
Valerian sighed. “This is a shortcut and a way to determine the extent of your strength.”
Vladimir turned away, holding his breath. “I do not want to know the extent of my strength. Being a coward is a lot better.”
Valerian chuckled, lowering his arms. “Being a coward is purely a suicide kink. Do not trick yourself.”
Vladimir glared at the blood moon god. “I will stop being a coward under one condition.”
“What is it?” Valerian smiled.
“Where did you take me and Boris? Why did you leave Boris conscious but
