In the warm bright room, Ophelia stared at Nikolai, who was still unconscious, as she ate a creamy yellow porridge while sitting on the chair next to the bed. Seeing him, his eyes closed, half of his body covered with a blanket, Ophelia smirked. He looked helpless and one could easily mistake him as gentle. 1
“Can I choke him?” Ophelia asked Rhaziel who was standing by the closed
door.
The demon remained silent and only fixed his expressionless gaze on Nikolai. She put another spoon of porridge in her mouth, rolling her eyes. She had eaten a lot since she returned to the castle. Rhaziel had paid
attention to her with that.
She was curious about the connection between Nikolai and the demon.
Rhaziel’s face may have been expressionless, but she could tell the demon was worried about Nikolai.
“Why did he collapse?” Ophelia questioned with wide–eyed curiosity, still holding the spoon in her mouth.
“This is the 30th time you’ve asked this.” Rhaziel bluntly stated.
Ophelia’s twitched. “And you still have not responded.” She took the spoon out of her mouth, and scooped up some more porridge.
“Does it have something to do with teleportation?” She asked gradually. There was a reason Nikolai decided to travel by carriage rather than teleport to the storage tower.
“Something like that,” Rhaziel replied. “He’ll wake up soon.”
Ophelia pursed her lips. “Is there a way to keep him like this forever?”

Rhaziel raised his brows in surprise then he smirked. “Yes, but not for long.”
Ophelia gasped excitedly. “What is that? Let me try!”
“Death.” Rhaziel replied with all seriousness.
Ophelia’s excitement vanished. “Nevermind,” and she placed the spoon in her blood savoring the taste like it was bitter.
Rhaziel approached her, giving a slow nod. Unexpectedly, he handed her a bottle that was wrapped in a heavy black cloth.
“What?” She questioned slowly collecting it.
“Give this to him as soon as he wakes up, and do not make any contact with him while doing that.” Rhaziel stated and slipped his hand into his pocket.
“Why? What’s inside?” Ophelia mused, carefully shaking the bottle.
“Fresh blood.” Rhaziel answered blankly.
Ophelia couldn’t believe her ears. “What?! Is he a vampire?!”
Rhaziel simply ignored her, turned away and walked out of the room leaving Ophelia scowling deeply.
“Arrogant!” She yelled and huffed.
She stood up, reigning curses under breath. Placing the plate of half eaten porridge on the chair, she then walked towards the bed, climbed onto it and placed the wrapped bottle on the bed beside his head.
“It turns out that you are a vampire too. How ridiculous.” She tsked, staring at him.
His hair was asleep on his forehead. She pondered how a being so twisted could be so attractive. She would have fallen for him without a doubt if he

had been the complete antithesis of who he is.
“Asshole.” She hissed, smacking his forehead. 3
She smiled then pushed his hair to the side of his face. “A real asshole.” She whispered.
She let out a heavy sigh and turned to leave, intending to finish her delicious porridge, but as soon as she moved, she felt a tight hold on her
wrist.
She was abruptly jerked back by Nikolai, and as she blinked in shock, she felt her back meet the bed. Nikolai hovering over her like a hungry predator on its prey.
Ophelia’s eyes were wide in shock. Nikolai’s were a thick crimson alive
maelstrom that were filled with intense blood lust. He craved blood.
“You’re awake!” She grabbed the bottle which was now next to her head and pointed it at his face.
She recalled right away that Rhaziel had instructed her to keep her distance when delivering him the bottle. She was in trouble!
She forced a smile. “Take this bottle and let me go Nikolai,”
He said, nothing but his gaze was telling her. ‘No.‘
She swallowed. Hard.
“Are you a vampire? Surely you are a pure blooded lycan who somehow has demonic powers and a demon state. Why do you need blood?” She began blabbering.
Nikolai blinked, tilting his head to the side.
“My blood is terrible! Bitter! Disgusting! But the blood in here is delicious!” She added and let out an aggravated sigh.

“Trust me Nikolai, you do not want my blood. You will throw up for days and worse, you might throw up your intestines too!”
It had been a long time since she had such anxiety. When she was anxious, she had a tendency to talk a lot, which eventually caused confusion for
her and those around her.
“You would not want to throw up your intestines, or your heart, would you?” She asked, shaking the bottle at his face.
“Be a good boy and take the bottle, not me.” She then poked his nose with
the bottle. “Please,” She forced a cute smile.
Nikolai blinked once again and she stiffened like a lamb under a prowling
wolf. Adorable.
Suddenly, Nikolai’s lips curled and he leaned his face closer to hers.
“No…” She let go of the bottle letting it fall on her chest.
Caressing his nose against hers, he whispered. “You talk way too much.”
Despite the scorching sensation she was currently experiencing, she closed her eyes and let out a long sigh of relief.
Nikolai let out a deep laughter, sat next to her and took the bottle. He opened it, drank all of it at once and looked back at her as she opened her
eyes.
“Screw you!” She breathed out, placing her hand on her chest.
“You can, we are in my room anyways and no one will hear your moans and screams.” Nikolai said unbotheredly.
Ophelia’s eyes fluttered, and she rapidly rolled away from him, eventually falling off at the bed’s edge.
When he saw her seated and frowning, Nikolai laughed, sprang from the

bed, and walked over to her.
“Or not,” He whispered and stood on his knees to her current height.
“Stay away.” she grumbled.
“I’m glad you have calmed down now that you have eaten.” He said and scooped her into his arms.
Ophelia yelped at his unexpected action and wrapped her arm around his neck. “What on earth are you doing?!”
“You need to sleep,” he said, gently placing her on the bed, then covering
her with the blanket.
“I have questions for you Nikolai, I am not sleepy.” She said to him with a serious expression.
“I am not going to answer any questions until tomorrow I’m afraid,” Nikolai whispered and took a step away from the bed then turned away.
“Wait!” Ophelia raised herself in a sitting position. “Where do you you are going?”
