The Silver Wolf (Diana and Talon) novel Chapter 129

Chapter One Hundred Twenty Nine

Same person?” Willow asked, frowning as she looked between Diana and Damon. “If they are the same person, then why would he tell Damon about the Silver Wolf years ago and then help you and Talon during the feral rogue attack?”

Diana leaned back slightly in her chair.

I don’t know” she admitted honestly “Although Her eyes narrowed thoughtfully.

“I have a feeling Ravenna and the black witch-Thorne-have some kind of relationship.”

That immediately drew everyone’s attention.

“A relationship?” Damon asked.

“You noticed it too?” Diana said looking at Talon.

“When Ravenna confronted him in the forest, she wasn’t talking to an enemy. Not really. She was pleading with him.”

Talon’s expression darkened.

“She begged him to stop. And she asked him to come back to their coven,” Diana continued.

“She sounded like someone trying to save a person she cared about.”

Silence filled the office. Because they had seen it. Even Talon had noticed the pain in Ravenna’s eyes. The hesitation. The conflict.

The way Thorne looked at her before he continue his attack.

Willow slowly crossed her arms.

“So what now?” She looked around the room. “What do we do?”

“Nothing” Everyone turned toward Talon.

Willow blinked “Nothing?”

“Yes Nothing “nTalon folded his arms. His voice was calm.

“We don’t know where the Oracle is. We don’t know where Ravenna is. We don’t know if they are the same person

A pause. “And even if they are, we have no way of finding them.”

His eyes moved to Diana.

“I don’t think Ravenna is someone you find.” Another pause. “I think she appears when she wants to be found.”

Diana slowly nodded. Because she couldn’t really argue with that. Ravenna had appeared exactly when they needed help And vanished the moment her warning was delivered.

Talon cuntinued. “So until we have more information, we do nothing. We focus on what we do know.”

His gaze hardened. “Stone Claw. Vanessa. And the possibility that Rafe is now the acting Alpha.”

Diana leaned forward. “And if he is?”

Talon didn’t hesitate. “Then I eliminate him.”

The room fell silent. Not because anyone was surprised. But because of how cold his answer was. No hesitation. No doubt. No uncertainty. Just certainty.

“He is a criminal.” Talon’s aura sharpened slightly.

Clam

“He helped Hazel attempt to assassinate my Luna.” He is a suspect in Willow’s attack. And he is a threat to both of our packs.”

A dangerous pause. “If Vanessa knows what he has done and chooses to help him arryway…” His eyes darkened. “Then she is guilty too.”

Willow slowly exhaled. She had never particularly liked Vanessa. But hearing Talon speak about executing her childhood acquaintance still felt strange.

Then-

“In that case…”

Everyone looked toward Damon. The Rogue King sat forward. His expression completely serious.

“I’ll come with you.”

Willow blinked. “What?”

Diana raised an eyebrow. Even Talon looked surprised.

“Why?” Willow asked.

Damon looked directly at her. “Because he is your brother.”

His gaze shifted toward Talon and Diana.

“And she is his mate. Whatever disagreements I have with the Alpha King, he matters to you.” Another pause. “You matter to me.”

The room grew quiet. Damon rarely spoke openly about his feelings. Especially in front of others.

“You’re my mate, Willow.” His voice softened slightly. “And your happiness is important to me.”

He shrugged. Almost awkwardly.

“If knowing your brother and Diana have support makes you worry less… Then I’ll go.”

Simple. Direct. Honest. Willow opened her mouth. Then closed it. Because she genuinely hadn’t expected that answer.

Unfortunately-Talon had recovered from his surprise.

“And what makes you think we need you?”

Claim

There it was. Diana sighed. Willow pinched the bridge of her nose. Conall looked resigned. Damon looked entirely unsurprised:

“I can protect my Luna,” Talon continued. “I don’t need anyone helping me protect her.”

“No disrespect, Alpha King,” Damon replied evenly. “I know you can”

That actually surprised Talon. Damon wasn’t challenging him. Wasn’t mocking him. Wasn’t provoking him. He was being serious.

“I know you can protect Diana.” His expression darkened.

“But you’re walking into what is likely a trap.” A pause. “You were already attacked once on your way here. The ferals are still active. We know Thorne is moving pieces. We know Rafe may be involved.” Another pause. “You need someone watching your back.”

Talon didn’t immediately answer. Because annoyingly- Damon was making sense. Then Willow spoke.

“You’re the Rogue King.” Everyone looked toward her. “You can’t just leave your kingdom.”

Damon immediately looked unconcerned.

“Yes, I can.”

“Damon.”

“I can.”

“Damon.”

He smiled slightly.

“Conall is here.”

Conall blinked. Then realized exactly where this conversation was going.

“And so are you, my mate.”

Willow stared. Then narrowed her eyes.

“That’s not how this works.”

“It absolutely is.”

“No.”

“Yes.”

“No.”

“Yes.”

Diana suddenly looked very entertained. Talon was trying not to smile. Willow pointed at Damon.

“If you leave, then I’m coming too.”

The room immediately became quiet. Damon groaned.

“Willow-”

“No.” She folded her arms.

“As you said, Talon is my brother.”

Her gaze moved to Diana.

“And Diana is my friend. If they’re walking into danger, I’m coming.”

“Absolutely not.”

“Yes.”

“No.”

“Yes.”

“No.”

“Yes.”

Conall looked away. Diana looked amused. Talon looked impressed. Damon looked exhausted.

“My mate-”

“No.”

“Willow-”

‘No.”

‘Listen-”

‘No.”

‘Please-”

‘No.”

Diana finally couldn’t stop herself. A laugh escaped her. Willow and Damon both looked at her.

“What?” Diana grinned. “You two sound exactly like Talon and me.”

Talon looked offended.

“We do not.”

“We absolutely do.”

“We don’t.”
