Chapter Seventy Seven
Chapter Seventy Seven
Glam
“If she is your mate… Conall said carefully, breaking the heavy silence that had settled inside the suite.” Then you have to make a decision, my king.”
Damon did not move.
His gaze remained fixed somewhere beyond the walls, though he was no longer seeing the room in front of him.
“Either you continue pursuing the Silver Wolf…” Conall continued, his tone steady but respectful, “or you accept what the Moon Goddess has given you.”
A pause.
“And blessed you with.”
Damon exhaled slowly.
“You know why we need the Silver Wolf,” he said, his voice low.
There was no anger in it.
Only weight.
“You know why I’ve spent years searching for her.”
His jaw tightened slightly.
“Why I never searched for my own mate.”
Conall said nothing.
Because he did know.
Damon turned slightly, his eyes dark.
“I made a promise,” he continued. “A promise to unite our rogue pack with the royal pack.”
His voice sharpened just a fraction.
“Not beneath them.”
A beat.
“But beside them.”
Equal.
“We need that alliance,” Damon said. “Not just for power… but for survival.”
He began pacing slowly now, his thoughts finally spilling outward.
“We can defend our territory. We can protect our people from most threats.”

His expression hardened:
“But not them.”
Conall’s face grew serious.
“The feral rogues,” Damon said.
The words carried quiet dread.
“They’re growing in numbers.”
His fists clenched.
“And we don’t know how.”
“Or why.”
He stopped walking.
Claim
“And if we don’t find a way to stop them…” he added, his voice dropping, “it won’t matter how strong we
are.
“They will overwhelm us.”
Conall nodded slowly.
“My king,” he said, “what happened when we were young…”
He paused.
“… it will not happen again.”
Damon’s gaze flickered.
“We are stronger now,” Conall continued. “Better trained. More united.”
He stepped closer.
“And don’t you see?”
Damon looked at him.
“The Silver Wolf is helping us already. Without her being your chosen mate.”
A small pause.
“We are here,” Conall said, gesturing slightly around them. “Inside the royal pack.”
“That would have been impossible before.”
Damon’s expression didn’t change-but he was listening.
“The Alpha King is willing to meet with you,” Conall added. “To talk. To consider an alliance.”

His voice lowered.
“And I don’t think they even know about the ferals.”
Damon’s eyes narrowed slightly,
“They don’t know how bad it’s getting.”
Another pause.
“And yet…”
Conall met his gaze directly.
“They are already willing to hear us out.”
Conall hesitated before continuing.
“My king… the promise you made…”
His voice softened.
“To unite the packs.”
He took a breath.
“Do you really think your parents would want you to fulfill that promise… if the price is your mate?”
Silence fell.
Heavy.
Unavoidable.
Damon didn’t answer.
But the answer came anyway.
Inside him.
No.
“They wouldn’t,” Damon thought.
“They would never ask that of me.”
Inside his mind, Cerberus stirred.
“Our mother would claw us herself for even thinking of sacrificing our mate.”

Damon huffed quietly.
“You sound like you’ve already decided,” he said internally.
Cerberus shifted.
Uncomfortable.
“I don’t know,” his wolf admitted.
A pause.
“I’m only saying what she would do.”
Then Cerberus retreated slightly, curling into himself.
Sulking.
Conflicted.
Just like Damon.
For a moment, neither of them spoke.
Because this-
This wasn’t a battle they knew how to fight.
Not with claws.
Not with strength.
Damon’s mind drifted.
Back.
Years ago.
To a time before all of this.
He had been seven.
Just a pup.
Back then, their pack had been small.
Fragile.
Still forming.

Chapter Seventy Form
His father-
An Alpha by blood.
A rightful Alpha.
Betrayed by his own brother.
Stripped of his title.
Banished from his birth pack.
But his father had not broken.
He had built something instead.
From nothing.
He gathered rogues.
Not the feral kind.
Not the mindless killers.
But the lost.
The abandoned.
The cast aside.
Wolves who had nowhere to go.
Who had lost everything.
And gave them something new.
A place.
A purpose.
A home.
Then he met Damon’s mother.
A rogue.
An Omega.
Banished for the cruelest reason-
Because she was the fated mate of an Alpha who did not want her.

Yet she had been strong.
Kind.
Unyielding.
She helped build the pack beside his father.
She cared for every wolf as if they were her own.
Together-
They ruled not with fear.
But with fairness.
With honor.
With heart.
Damon had been happy.
Back then.
Until the night everything changed.
The ferals came without warning.
From all sides.
Like a storm.
Unthinking.
Unrelenting.
They tore through the pack with a violence Damon had never seen before.
He still remembered the screams.
The blood.
The chaos.
The pack survived.
Barely.

But his parents-
Did not.
At seven years old-
Damon became something he should never have had to be..
Alone.
