Tonight, Her Love Ended novel Chapter 13

Even a fool could read between the lines.

Tristan was demanding that Nova give up her seat for Yvette so that Yvette could sit next to him.

Hearing this, Yvette didn't bother sitting down. She just stood gracefully in front of Nova, waiting for her to get up and yield.

She acted as if Nova had stolen a seat that rightfully belonged to her.

Nova's expression remained perfectly blank, her eyes locked straight ahead—she owed them absolutely nothing!

"Are you deaf? He told you to move," Kieran sneered, his voice dropping as more attendees began filtering into the venue.

Nova found the entire situation laughable.

"If there's an issue with your seating arrangements, Mr. Forrester and Mr. Pearce are more than welcome to take Ms. Sellers to the event organizers. This is my seat, and I was here first. Why should I move?"

Tristan arched an eyebrow, his gaze shifting to Nova.

She could feel the heavy weight of his scrutiny pressing down on her.

For a man accustomed to absolute authority, a single glance was all it took. He didn't need words; his oppressive presence suffocated the air around them.

She was terrified of him. Deep in her bones, there was an ingrained fear of him and the untouchable power he yielded.

But why did she have to back down, over and over again? They were about to sever ties completely.

Nova lifted her chin and stared right back into his eyes.

Tristan's gaze darkened into ice. Nova knew the look well—it was the warning sign right before his temper flared.

Just then, Yvette stepped in smoothly. "Tristan, it's fine. It's just a seat. Let her have it. Please don't get angry over irrelevant people for my sake, okay?"

As she said "irrelevant people," Yvette cast a brief glance at Nova.

She had always known Nova existed, but it wasn't until the day Yasmin was slapped that she truly understood what kind of person she was.

She just hadn't expected her to be... like this.

Looking at Nova's bloated figure and the pregnancy spots dotting her face, Yvette didn't want to lower herself to argue. She even offered a patronizing, magnanimous smile.

"Since you're pregnant, you shouldn't be running around like this. The baby comes first. But if you're really interested in technology, once my partnership project takes off, you can come work as my assistant. I'll show you the ropes."

"No thanks. Just worry about yourself, Ms. Sellers." Nova knew exactly what this fake concern was about.

Yvette just wanted a painless way to become a mother.

And her phrasing was downright hilarious—'just a seat, let her have it'?

"Besides, this is my assigned seat. There is no 'letting me have it.' You really need to learn the concept of first come, first served. The ticket is in black and white. I assume you know how to read."

Yvette froze. Kieran was about to snap back on her behalf, but she quickly pressed a hand to his shoulder and sat down. Shaking her head, she whispered to him.

"Forget it. She's pregnant, let's not argue. Inferiority complexes really do make people lash out and act horribly. Let's just take the high road and leave her be."

Kieran swallowed his anger but still shot Nova a venomous glare before muttering to Yvette, "Your only flaw is being too kind and caring too much about keeping up appearances."

Yvette looked past Nova, catching Tristan's eye, and offered a dismissive, gentle smile.

Nova found it deeply amusing.
