Tonight, Her Love Ended novel Chapter 9

Nova knew that even though the babies were gone, to everyone else, she still looked heavily pregnant. Her body was swollen, making her look like she was in her third trimester.

Terrified of accidentally harming the "CEO's baby," and acutely aware of Tristan's presence, the security guards didn't dare physically restrain her.

But just as she summoned every ounce of her courage to stand in front of him, Tristan's merciless voice cut through the air. "If you have a dispute, take it up with Forrester's legal team."

Nova froze.

Forrester Group spent three billion a year maintaining Tristan's elite roster of attorneys. Since he took over the company, this legal team had fought tens of thousands of battles for him, domestically and internationally. They had a zero percent loss rate. They were the undisputed kings of the industry.

And now, he was deploying them against her.

He was openly telling her that even if she was being framed, he wouldn't lift a finger to help.

He didn't care about her, so naturally, he didn't care if she was innocent.

He didn't even care that she was "pregnant" or how this stress might affect his child.

Nova's eyes burned. If that's how he wanted to play it, fine!

Just as Tristan stepped toward the elevator, Nova lifted her chin. Her voice shook, but she forced the words out with everything she had: "I had a miscarriage."

Now they could finally divorce.

The elevator chimed loudly, but no one moved to get on.

The entire lobby fell dead silent.

Tristan didn't even flinch. Without so much as a glance in her direction, he stepped into the elevator.

Suddenly, someone snorted. The sound triggered a wave of laughter that rippled through the crowd, growing louder and louder.

Nova looked around, seeing nothing but mockery and disgust on everyone's faces.

She knew exactly what they were thinking. They were laughing at her desperation, sneering at her pathetic attempt to use a fake miscarriage to win back his attention. And look at the result? Their mighty CEO treated her like a clown, leaving her humiliated in the lobby without a second thought.

But her babies... really were gone.

"Heh..." Nova placed a hand protectively over her stomach and let out a broken, self-deprecating laugh. She turned away, only to see the janitor walking down the stairs with a trash can full of familiar items.

Nova walked over and pulled out a locked diary.
