Buying My Forever Wife novel Chapter 87

Hearing his assistant's words, a dark cloud cast over Alaric's handsome face, his emotions obscured in the depths of his eyes.

He asked, "Are you saying that as long as I don't go back, she'll eventually ask me for a divorce over time?"

Leo was speechless.

Was that what he meant?

He clearly meant that since they were married, they should try to make a life together.

He definitely didn't want his boss and the boss's wife to get a divorce.

Leo let out a dry laugh and defended himself:

"Unless you actually want her to bring up a divorce, Boss."

Alaric didn't deny it.

"I do want her to bring it up. She saved my daughter's life, after all. The reward she wanted was for me to marry her, so now that I have, I naturally can't be the one to initiate it."

So all he could do was give Ivy the cold shoulder and make her ask for it herself.

Not getting a divorce wasn't an option.

After all, that wretched girl refused to fulfill her marital duties.

If she kept clinging to the position of his wife forever, how was he supposed to live?

He had never thought about physical desires before.

But now he did.

If Ivy divorced him, he would try to find a woman who was actually willing to fulfill her marital duties.

Leo sighed. "Do you really not like your wife at all, Boss? She's quite beautiful."

Hearing this, Alaric's face darkened even further.

His eyes pierced his assistant coldly.

"Do you like her?"

Leo felt a wave of murderous intent hit him from behind. He immediately held his breath and shook his head in denial:

"No, no, Boss, please don't misunderstand. I wouldn't dare. It was my fault for speaking out of turn. It won't happen again."

Alaric leaned back against the seat lazily. The aura surrounding him was terrifying; just a single look from him felt lethal.

He didn't even know what he was so angry about.

Maybe he just hated other people praising Ivy.

That wretched girl. What good was being pretty if her head was filled with mush? She was utterly foolish.

The Starlight Estate.

How could she possibly act like a real wife and report everything to him?

She simply couldn't do it.

Ivy felt like passing out right then and there.

Beside her, Stella reminded her again, "Mommy, remember to call Daddy 'Darling'. If I hear you not calling him Darling, I'll get mad."

Ivy put the phone down, pretending to be angry as she hugged and ruffled the girl's hair.

"You're doing this on purpose, aren't you? You just want to embarrass me in front of your dad."

Stella giggled, her bright eyes twinkling, her face beaming.

"No, I don't. I just want Mommy and Daddy to be with me. I want our family of three to love each other and be happy forever."

Ivy smiled sadly in her heart.

Their family of three?

From the moment she demanded Alaric marry her, he had harbored a deep prejudice against her.

It had been so long, yet his attitude toward her remained freezing cold.

Sometimes, the things he said were toxic enough to kill.

How could Alaric ever love her?
