He Waited She Wilted (Ottilie and Yorath) novel Chapter 134

This was exactly what made Yorath so lethal.

He was always polite.

Yet every word he spoke was laced with venom.

Capable of piercing Ottilie right to the core.

I'll marry you, but are you worthy?

The doors to the Fordham estate are open, but can you even step inside?

Ottilie thought maliciously—what if she nodded and said yes right now? What would he do?

Just as she opened her mouth to speak, Yorath's phone rang.

The explosive tension shattered, snapping both of their minds back to reality.

Yorath let go of her and answered the call, his tone frosty. "What is it?"

Whoever was on the other end said something indistinct.

Yorath hung up without another word.

"I'll have someone bring the contract in. When I come back, I expect to see your signature on it."

He left without looking back.

Ottilie slumped onto the sofa, taking a long time to exhale.

Yvonne Quinn walked in.

She cleaned up the spilled water on the floor, placed a fresh copy of the contract on the table, bowed respectfully, and stepped back.

Ottilie called out to her, "Is there any food?"

"Yes, what would you like?" Yvonne pulled out her phone, quickly pulling up the estate's ingredient inventory, and handed it to her.

Ottilie scanned it, deciding not to make a fuss this late at night.

"Just make me some noodles. Tomorrow, aside from the usual three meals, I also want pastries, cake, and milk tea in the morning, afternoon tea, and a late-night supper... make it high-calorie, nutritious stuff. Anything works."

"Right away." Yvonne nodded and withdrew.

Ottilie didn't even spare a glance at the contract. She got up, collapsed onto the bed, and went straight to sleep.

The next day, Yorath didn't return.

While eating breakfast, Ottilie asked Yvonne, "Is Mr. Fordham coming back today?"

"Ms. Tarrant has been feeling unwell these past few days, and he is over there keeping her company. If you need anything, you can contact him directly."

Ottilie thought to herself, Nyssa, you better work harder.

Keep him over there for a couple of days.

"I don't need anything."

Ottilie ate her fill, in high spirits.

She was now eating an entire week's worth of food in a single day.
