Elian checked the cold medication Nyssa was taking and watched her swallow the pills before leaving the room.

He sat down next to Jevon. "When I call you later, don't go inside."

Jevon stood up. "Yorath, I'm starving. I'm gonna go grab some late-night takeout."

Elian followed suit. "I'm gonna step out for a smoke."

Yorath glanced at the two of them before picking up the file on the table.

It was the proposal Elian and Jevon had been discussing.

The contingency plan for Ottilie's career if her pregnancy was confirmed.

Once outside, Elian relayed Nyssa's request to Jevon.

Jevon shivered at the thought. "You've got some nerve, Elian. Agreeing to something like this? Believe me, I wouldn't even need Yorath to do it—I'd beat you so bad your own mother wouldn't recognize you."

Elian said defensively, "I told her I'd only agree if you did. That's why I told you not to go in there."

Jevon warned, "I know you have a thing for Nyssa, but you can't betray Yorath like this. You know his temper. Think carefully about the consequences. For Nyssa's sake, I'll pretend I didn't hear this tonight. But if there's a next time, I'm telling him."

With that, Jevon walked away.

At the Meridian Villa.

In the middle of the night, Jevon showed up to see Ottilie.

He startled her—she had assumed Yorath was back.

When she walked out, she saw Jevon holding a thermos, setting it on the table right in front of her.

"Yorath ordered this for you. I'm not leaving until I see you drink it."

Ottilie opened it to find Herbal Chicken Consommé.
