Stella had heard of the town before, though it was hardly a well-known destination.

It was nowhere near either Seaborne or Eirden. One lay in the west, while Sima Mountain was in the far south.

She instinctively looked toward the window.

Outside, everything was blanketed in white.

Whenever he planned a trip, he preferred lively, glamorous cities.

Stella had always preferred quiet places like this.

She felt as though living somewhere so peaceful could calm even the most restless heart.

She had never expected Felix to bring her here.

Stella glanced at him.

“I remember you mentioning that you liked this place,” Felix said.

She had never spoken to Felix about Sima Mountain.

How could he possibly know?

Felix seemed to understand her confusion.

“There was a time when you told Evan you wanted to visit. He turned you down.”

Stella remembered now.

After Evan rejected the idea, she had never mentioned Sima Mountain again.

Felix had happened to be there at the time.

She had not expected him to remember something so insignificant.

For a moment, complicated emotions stirred inside her.

She looked at Felix without speaking.

“You’ll need to stay in the hospital for a few more days,” he said. “Once you’re discharged, I’ll take you around town.”

“It’s probably even more beautiful than the pictures and videos you saw online.”
