Outcast Queen: Her Return from Hell novel Chapter 113

Meredith frowned. "Calling for backup? Ms. Sterling, isn't that playing a little dirty?"

"Hah, you're welcome to call someone too." Penelope crossed her arms and scoffed. "Ms. Miller, as a newcomer to the industry, I doubt you have those kinds of connections locally just yet. Actually, if you get on your knees and apologize to my Ian, maybe I'll let you off the hook."

"Ms. Sterling, you're dreaming," Meredith shot back, her fiery temper having been forged in 'that place.' "I'd love to see what kind of untouchable boss you managed to call."

She sounded tough, but internally, she was a little nervous. However, catching a glimpse of Phoenix's calm expression instantly steadied her nerves. Phoenix had been a ruthless fighter in that hellhole, taking on ten people at once. Even if Penelope brought local thugs, could they really be worse than the monsters from the penitentiary?

"Fine, then you just wait right here. Don't run!" Penelope spat through gritted teeth. When she turned back to Ian, she immediately put on a gentle smile. "Ian, just wait for the show. Let's see how these two idiots beg for mercy."

"Yeah." Ian nodded, staring at Phoenix with a cold, sinister gaze. "Phoenix, don't say I didn't warn you. The person Penelope called is Vinnie 'The Tiger' Rossi—the top enforcer for Leo, the kingpin of the south district."

"Vinnie?" Phoenix paused slightly. The name sounded familiar.

"Scared?" Seeing her momentary confusion, Ian assumed she was panicking and mocked her. "Kneel down and apologize right now, and I can have Penelope let you go."

Phoenix thought for a moment and finally remembered. Vinnie? Wasn't that the unlucky bastard she had beaten until he practically lost his manhood at the Eclipse Nightclub?

She shot Penelope a strange look. The grand heiress of the Sterling family actually called that kind of trash for backup? Clearly, her status wasn't as high as she pretended it was.

"Phoenix?" Ian frowned. Why was this woman zoning out? Was she scared stupid?

Phoenix snapped out of it, raised a middle finger directly at Ian, and parted her red lips. "In your dreams."

"You!" Ian was enraged and tried to lunge forward, but Penelope held him back.

"Ian, don't get angry over someone like her. When Vinnie gets here, we'll have plenty of ways to torture her."

Ian took a deep breath, suppressing his fury. "Make sure Vinnie breaks this trash's arms and legs later. Four years locked up and she's still this arrogant. Seems like she didn't suffer enough in there."

Phoenix ignored their barking, pulled out her phone, and gave an address. "Come to the Lamborghini dealership in the south district."

Hanging up, she motioned for Meredith to walk toward the sleek hypercar nearby.

The Lamborghini Veneno.

The two of them riffing off each other instantly reignited Ian's fury.

"Phoenix!" His fists clenched tight. This trash used to cower in front of him, too afraid to even lift her head. Now she dared to humiliate him like this!

"Ian, don't be mad! They're just running their mouths." Penelope quickly comforted him, then glared viciously at Phoenix. "A multimillion-dollar car, and you think you deserve it?"

"Ms. Sterling, how do you know I can't afford it?" Phoenix turned around, a half-smile playing on her lips.

Penelope scoffed. "Just like Ian said, you're a country bumpkin. Do you even know how much eighteen million dollars is? Even with Ms. Miller backing you, do you really think an industry newcomer has that much liquid cash to throw around on you?"

"Who said I was going to make Merry pay for it?" Phoenix said calmly. "I can pay for it in full myself."

"Good, very good! I've seen people bluff before, but never this hard." Penelope's eyes turned dark. "I already reserved this car. But since you're talking so big, as long as you can pull out fourteen million, the car is yours, and I'll cover the rest of the balance for you!"

Phoenix raised an eyebrow. She slipped a cold, gleaming black card from between her fingers and handed it to the completely stunned Curtis standing nearby.

"Manager Vance, full price. Swipe it."
