Outcast Queen: Her Return from Hell novel Chapter 188

Seeing their beloved daughter in such a miserable state, Warren and Vanessa felt as if their hearts were being sliced by knives.

This was the daughter they had meticulously raised for over a decade. Even without blood ties, the devotion they had poured into her was entirely real.

"Phoenix, Phoebe already knows she was wrong. Do you really need to be this aggressive?" Vanessa gritted her teeth. Her eyes were filled with pleading as she stared dead at Phoenix.

"Phoenix, enough is enough. Are you determined to turn this house upside down before you're satisfied?" Warren also darkened his face, his tone chilling.

Hearing this, a mocking sneer curved Phoenix's lips. "Warren, Vanessa, your bias has truly reached the stratosphere. Phoebe makes a massive mistake, and you brush it off with an 'enough is enough.' But what about me?"

She stepped forward, her gaze cutting like a blade. "Don't forget, I am your biological daughter. Yet the only reason I carry the stigma of being an ex-con is entirely thanks to you two."

"When I was sent to prison back then, there wasn't a single shred of pity or guilt in your eyes. Only relief—relief that the person taking the fall and suffering wasn't your precious Phoebe."

"It's laughable. Absolutely absurd." Phoenix shook her head, her eyes ice-cold. "Now, for the sake of an adopted daughter who committed a colossal mistake, you're actually lowering yourselves to beg me. What a touching picture of parental love."

These words pierced straight to their cores. Warren and Vanessa's faces froze entirely, their throats seemingly blocked, unable to utter a single sound.

More than shame, they feared that Phoenix would expose the whole truth of what happened back then. With how much the old man valued her now, if he found out the truth, the consequences would be unimaginable.

Fortunately, Phoenix didn't seem intent on digging deeper. But this wasn't forgiveness; it was the patience of a hunter tracking its prey—waiting for the perfect moment to deal a fatal blow that would utterly destroy their reputations.

"What a spectacular show."

A lazy round of applause broke the stalemate. Pierce clapped his hands with a half-smile, his tone teasing. "My grandfather always says how glorious the Prescott family was in Alistair's hands, yet now that it's been handed over to Warren, it's declining by the day."

"A once top-tier family, now reduced to the brink of being kicked out of the elite circles. Truly pathetic."

Pierce's tone shifted, his sharp gaze piercing straight into Warren and his wife's chests. "I couldn't figure out the reason before, but today, the root of the problem is crystal clear."

"With you two blind fools in charge, abandoning your infinitely promising biological daughter to pamper a scheming imposter... With such awful judgment and narrow vision, how could the Prescott family ever rise?"

"Pierce." Warren's pupils shrank violently as rage churned in his eyes.

"Warren, are you already losing your temper?" Pierce scoffed, his eyes full of disdain. "I'm honestly starting to wonder how you managed to sit in the seat of the Prescott family head."

These words fell heavily on Alistair's ears, sounding exceptionally harsh.

"Enough."
