Ian collapsed to the floor right at Penelope's feet, weeping uncontrollably. "Penny, I was wrong! Please, just give me one more chance! I swear I'll change. I'll treat you right for the rest of my life, I'll only love you!"

Penelope stared down at him, the fury in her eyes slowly freezing over. She should have slapped him as hard as those other women had and walked away.

But she didn't. She simply watched in silence, observing how the man she had placed on a pedestal had been reduced to something so ugly and pathetic.

"So, this is the real you," Penelope scoffed, wiping her tears away with the back of her hand, her gaze turning utterly ruthless. "I am not going to let you get away with this, Ian. You dared to play me, and I'll make you wish you were dead."

Without a shred of lingering affection, she turned and walked away.

"Penny!"

Watching her figure retreat, sheer terror gripped Ian.

He could handle the threats from the other rich women, but Penelope's promise chilled him to the bone. Her father, Silas Sterling, wielded terrifying power. If Penelope wanted him destroyed, not even the Prescott family could shield him.

"It's over... it's all over..."

Ian slumped against the floor, completely defeated. The A-list star who had been on top of the world just minutes ago was now nothing but a stray dog.

"What happened?!"

Rowena finally burst back into the room.

She stepped into dead silence, taking in the sight of Ian sitting on the floor looking like a corpse. Her heart skipped a beat.

"Someone tell me what the hell just happened. I stepped out for one phone call and the sky fell?"

"Rowena, the sky really did fall..." a trembling staff member summarized the entire disaster.

Rowena's face drained of color. Without a word, she marched over to Ian.

"You really outdid yourself this time, Ian! We were sitting at the top of the world, and in the blink of an eye, you dragged us all into the mud!"

"Rowena, you have to save me!" Startled back to reality, Ian clung to her leg as if she were his last lifeline. "You're the best agent in the business. You can spin this, right?"
